Sara Erickson, PharmD

Dr. Erickson has six years of experience as a health outcomes researcher within the
pharmacy benefits management industry. Her current responsibilities at MedImpact
include designing research studies, writing analytic plans, critically evaluating data and
writing final reports and manuscripts for publication. Her research has been published
in various clinical and managed care journals.
Her responsibilities also include conducting and presenting medication use evaluations
to support P&T committee decision making and providing analytic and strategic
support for clients to improve PQA, HEDIS and CMS star ratings measures. Dr. Erickson
serves on the PQA Medication Safety Use committee that assists in the development
and validation of new safety measures. Dr. Erickson also has a volunteer faculty
appointment at University of California, San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and
Pharmaceutical Sciences and serves as the co-faculty advisor for the student AMCP chapter.
Dr. Erickson received her doctorate of pharmacy at the University of California, San Diego. She completed a postgraduate managed care pharmacy residency at Prescription Solutions, now OptumRx.
