HORTO compost bins are entirely manufactured from 100% HDPE plastic material recovered
from separate waste collection (post-consumer) and guaranteed by “Plastica Seconda Vita”
(Second-Life plastic) from the Italian Institute for the Promotion of Recycled Plastics. Pallets
used are certified to have been sourced from timber extracted from sustainable forests by
PEFC. These modern practices maximise the use of waste resources in manufacture and
packing.

Since ancient times, the garden (HORTI in Latin) was considered to be the
most essential part of the home and the importance of producing and
utilising humus was well known, for care of the soil for healthy growth of
plants and vegetables.
The practice of composting, more recently scientifically defined in its
process by Albrecht Thaer in 1790, is the most natural solution for
processing kitchen food or garden waste, from resource to compost as
a sustainable soil improver.
The new HORTO compost bin range is the modern and ecological
answer to home composting of selected food and garden waste.

the interactive conditions of decomposition and reducing the time needed to complete the compost process. This is
achieved through thermal insulation, balancing moisture conservation and temperature through optimum aeration,
