The Initiating Device Circuit module (3-IDC8/4) provides eight supervised Class B input circuits. Four of the eight circuits can be configured as notification appliance circuits. The IDC module supports a wide range of wire sizes to accommodate retrofits. Removable field wiring terminals on the IDC module facilitate troubleshooting and servicing of field wiring. In addition, any Control Display module can mount to the front of an IDC module. The IDC module is ideal for retrofit projects and can allow connection of existing wiring, traditional two-wire smoke detectors, and signals. The IDC module can be configured for n.o. contacts and supports supervised supervisory and monitor circuits with latching and nonlatching operations. Using a monitor circuit with nonlatching operation, the IDC module can function as a supervised event follower. For input circuits, the IDC module provides software to select impedance ranges so compatibility with many type of conventional smoke detectors is possible. The software provides four groups of impedance levels: open circuit, high impedance, low impedance (relative to the main impedance setting), and shorted condition. The software accommodates European alarm circuit operation. 74-2680-1 INITIATING DEVICE CIRCUIT MODULE Both retard and reset time periods are programmable for smoke detectors to support alarm verification. This capability gives circuit by circuit operational flexibility. The confirmation time is always 60 seconds. The circuits use traditional reverse polarity operation for polarized bells, horns, and strobes. The notification appliance circuits are arranged in pairs. Each circuit pair distributes 3.5A at 24 Vdc from the local rail or a single riser. Supported riser sources include a pulsed 3.5A at 24 Vdc temporal pattern for audible signals or an audio source of up to 100W at 70 Vrms for speakers.
