Component A is specified here. Application Gravimetric feeding of fibers. Especially suited for the feeding of glass fibers with length of 3 to 6 mm. Design Vibratory KV2-F feeder with a closed feeder tray and hopper mounted on a 3-point weighing system. All parts in contact with the material being fed are stainless steel. The equipment is practically maintenance-free because there are no mechanical parts to wear. The modular design allows easy interchange of hopper, drive or even another type of feeder (e.g. single screw or twin screw feeder). By opening the V-clamp on the lower hopper end by tool, the feeder will swing out for easy cleaning. This equipment conforms to CE standards regarding EMC and safety. Vibratory tray with fiber equalizer: • Designed for accurate and reliable feeding of glass fibers (or other fibers) with lengths of 3 to 6 mm. • Totally enclosed channel, i.e. no fiber contamination of surroundings. • The vibrating tray is very short in length due to the efficient function of the equalizer. • Adjustable fiber equalizer in different configurations to match feed rate and behavior. Controller: (see separate data sheets) The SmartConnex® control system allows individual or multi-component control. Each feeder has its own control module. Connection between feeders, operator interface and smart I/O is via an industrial network. A variety of protocols is available for connection to the plant’s host system. Connection Vibrating tray Vibratory Drive The Coperion K-Tron vibratory drive is part of the control system and has been developed especially for use with feeders. A main design feature of the drive is the large weight difference between the stationary and moving components. The leaf spring being tension free when not in operation can be easily replaced. The electronic control system provides a quick response to changing feed and environmental conditions. The control feedback signal is produced by means of a permanent magnet and spool. Feed Rates with Glass Fibers Attention: The following rates are theoretical values. Actual feed rates depend on the length, bulk density or general behavior of a specific fiber type. Therefore it is advisable to test each material at a Coperion K-Tron test lab. Bulk material Glass fibers with length of 3 - 6 mm (1/8 - 1/4 in) Bulk density Feed rate range 0.5 - 0.8 kg/dm3 (31 - 50 lb/ft3) 10 - 450 kg/h (22 - 990 lb/h) Feed rate range with controller settings is 1:20. Adjustments to the drive can increase the range to 1:30.
