In times of progressively stricter emissions
and energy norms, where the impact on
available resources must be minimized, the
desire for comfort yet remains.

Despite the fact that in our European climate
there are generally more heating days than
there are cooling days, more end users
require cooling in addition to heating.
To meet these needs for maximum year
round comfort against a minimal use of
energy, Reznor and Mitsubishi Electric have
co-developed a new concept.
The PREEVA + PUHY has been designed
as a standalone installation combining the
proven versatility of an air handling unit with
the highest efficiencies of a heat pump,
without an additional heating energy source.

Model Range
PREEVA + PUHY units are available
standard as weatherproof outdoor models
(RD), suitable for rooftop or low level
installation, or optionally as indoor models
(SD).
The PREEVA + PUHY range has 4 models
with heating outputs between 25 and 63 kW,
and cooling outputs between 22 and 56 kW.

Depending on available space and on
building regulations, the units may have to
be installed outdoors at a distance from one
another, or the PREEVA may have to be
installed indoors. These configurations are
also possible. The PUHY can be placed at a
distance equalling refrigerant piping length
of up to 1000 m, with a height difference of
up to 50 m.

Mitsubishi Electric PAR-31MAA
For your convenience, Reznor has developed a base frame accomodating both the
PREEVA and the PUHY on a rooftop or at
ground level.
Applications
•
The PREEVA + PUHY is controlled by
Mitsubishi Electric's PAR-31MAA.
In case the PREEVA + PUHY has the
optional gas fired heating section, it is
controlled by the Carel pCO5.

PUHY range to offer end users a renewable
alternative to gas fired heating and to water
and steam coil heating.
Mitsubishi Electric is active on the HVAC
market with a competitive range of high
efficiency air conditioning products for split
applications, such as the PUHY heat pump,
which is designed to connect to indoor
terminal units, as well as to the DX coil of air
handling units such as the PREEVA.
In addition, the application range of Reznor's
succesful PREEVA range can now be
extended even further, for example where
gas fired heating is not suited, or where an
application with both heating and cooling is
required.

Most of the time, a heat pump does not have
to operate at maximum capacity. This is why
the PUHY has an electronic expansion valve
to control the flow of the coolant, while the
variable frequency drive allows the
compressor to operate on partial load. This
saves energy and minimizes the number of
starts and stops, hereby increasing
longevity.
This combination provides a continuous,
linear output that allows a very precise
control of temperature and, consequently,
improved indoor comfort.

As a standard, Reznor will supply the PREEVA + PUHY
packaged on a single base frame for outdoors installation.
However, to provide the installer and user maximum
installation flexibility, alternative configurations can equally
be specified, with the PUHY placed outdoors and the
PREEVA either indoors, or outdoors at a distance from the
PUHY.
When the PREEVA + PUHY is ordered
as a packaged unit on the single base
frame, it is delivered with all piping
connected and the refrigerant pre-filled
before dispatch, thereby reducing
installation time and costs.
