B. GENERAL:
1. CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME THE SOLE AND COMPLETE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS AND
PROPERTY; THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND NOT BE
LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS; & THAT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND,
INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD THE OWNER AND ARCHITECT HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL
LIABILITY, REAL, OR ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE PERFORMANCE OR THE
WORK ON THIS PROJECT.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTE THAT THERE SHALL BE NO SUBSITUTIONS AFTER
BIDDING AND NEGOTIATIONS, FOR ANY MATERIAL WHERE SPECIFIC
MANUFACTURERS ARE SPECIFIED. WHERE APPROVED EQUAL IS USED IT SHALL BE
UNDERSTOOD THAT THE SUBSITUTION SHALL BE JUDGMENT AND APPROVAL OF THE
ARCHITECT.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS AT THE JOB
SITE BEFORE COMMENCING WORK AND SHALL IMMEDIATELY REPORT ANY
DISCREPANCIES TO THE ARCHITECT.
6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO DISTRIBUTE ADEQUATE
COPIES OF ALL DRAWINGS TO ALL TRADES FALLING UNDER THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AT
ALL TIMES DURING THE PROGRESS OF THE JOB (I.E. REVISIONS).
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL AT ALL TIMES, KEEP PREMISES FREE FROM
ACCUMULATION OF DEBRIS. AT THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK, HE SHALL CLEAN
ALL GLASS SURFACES AND LEAVE THE WORK "BROOM CLEAN".
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL LABOR, MATERIAL EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER
ITEMS NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETION OF ALL WORK SHOWN, CALLED FOR, OR
REASONABLY IMPLIED BY THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS EXCEPT WHERE
SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE.
9. WHERE WORK OR EQUIPMENT IS INDICATED "BY OTHERS" SUCH WORK AND/OR
EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PART OF THE CONTRACT AND PROVIDED BY GENERAL
CONTRACTOR AND/OR OTHER TRADES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE AND
COOPERATE TO EFFECT SUCH INSTALLATION.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION FENCES/BARRIERS
AROUND ALL CONSTRUCTION AREAS.
11. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPLY ONE (1) SET OF AS-BUILT CONSTRUCTION
DOCUMENTS WHICH SHALL INCLUDE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS BEARING RED
MARKS/NOTES INDICATING CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS.
12. UPON COMPLETION OF THE JOB, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT CERTIFICATES
OF INSPECTION OF SATISFACTORY COMPLETION.

3. ANY DECORATIONS USED SHALL BE NON-COMBUSTIBLE OR FLAME-RETARDANT TREATED IN AN
APPROVED MANNER (CURTAINS, DRAPES, SHADES, HANGINGS, ETC.).
4. THE FLAME-SPREAD RATING OF PANELING MATERIALS ON THE WALLS OF THE CORRIDOR, LOBBY, AND
EXIT ENCLOSURE MUST BE CLASS II.
C. SIGNAGE:
1. STAIRWAY IDENTIFICATION SIGNS SHALL BE LOCATED AT EACH FLOOR LEVEL IN ALL ENCLOSED
STAIRWAYS IN BUILDINGS FOUR OR MORE STORIES IN HEIGHT.
1. THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE A COMPLETE SET OF
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CONSTRUCT A BUILDING. CONSTRUCTION MEANS,
METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES, PROCEDURES, AND SITE SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS ARE CUSTOMARILY ASSIGNED AS RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE
CONTRACTOR TO GIVE THE CONTRACTOR FULL LATITUDE IN PREPARING BIDS AND
CARRYING OUT THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE.
2. OMISSIONS OR CONFLICTS BETWEEN THE DRAWINGS, NOTES, AND DETAILS, SHALL
BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT AND RESOLVED BEFORE
PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.
3. NOTES AND DETAILS ON THE DRAWINGS SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THES
GENERAL NOTES.
1. PROVIDE A PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH A RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 2-A OR 2-A10BC WITHIN 75
FEET TRAVEL DISTANCE TO ALL PORTIONS OF THE BUILDING ON EACH FLOOR, ALSO DURING
CONSTRUCTION.
2. PROVIDE PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH A RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 10BC FOR KITCHEN,
ELECTRICAL ROOM, MECHANICAL ROOM, AND ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT ROOM.
4. THE LOCATION OF FIRE DEPARTMENT HOSE CONNECTIONS SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT.
5. PROVIDE A COMPLETE SUPERVISED AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES. NO WORK ON THIS SYSTEM SHALL BE STARTED PRIOR TO
THE APPROVAL OF PLANS BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT PLUMBING
SECTION.
E. FIRE ALARM:
1. PROVIDE A COMPLETE AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING IN
ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE CODES.
2. SUBMIT DRAWINGS OF FIRE ALARM SYSTEM TO FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION.
3. THIS BUILDING SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A MANUAL ALARM SYSTEM WITH THE CAPABILITY TO
SUPPORT VISIBLE ALARM NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 72
