RIC’s Metal Enclosed switchgear is highly configurable for

by Metal Enclosed switchgear standards, allowing more
options and creativity in meeting the strictest of project

Product Elements
Load Break Switch (LBS): Complete with (2) independent arc
extinguishing systems, the LBS can be coupled with current
limiting fuses, a fixed circuit breaker or used independently
depending on the specific application’s requirements.
Circuit Breaker: Designs requiring a circuit breaker will utilize
a fixed vacuum breaker helping to minimize the overall
switchgear footprint.
Custom Design Solutions: For situations with unique space or
cell design requirements, RIC Power can provide a design

OVERVIEW
An arc fault event can cause devastating damage
due to the sudden increase in pressure and
localized overheating of components surrounding
the fault location. The resulting mechanical and
thermal stresses experienced by components
within the vicinity of the event; enclosure parts,
conductors, insulators for example, are severe
enough to produce molten, particulate or gaseous
by-products that can impact the safety of nearby
personnel.
RIC Power’s Arc Resistant series utilizes a steel
reinforced enclosure capped with a plenum and
exhaust chute system in order to direct the fault
explosion to a safe, designated area.

inspection, repair and maintenance of the installed equipment,
reducing down time and costs over the lifespan of the

About Us
RIC Power is not your typical switchgear manufacturer. Located in beautiful Burnaby,
British Columbia, RIC Power breaks the mould by providing lead time and approvals in
weeks, rather than months. Extensive testing and high levels of pride in workmanship
allows RIC Power to create customized designs given customer’s unique and technically
challenging requirements. This is often in the form of additional protection (where they
incorporate their Arc Resistant construction), or limited space (where they utilize one off
