Custom Marine Group Acquires Baja Marine, LLC.
Washington, NC. – Custom Marine Group (CMG), a new partnership recently formed by the Ross
and Wortley families to provide the highest quality boating and marina solutions to all watercraft
consumers, today announced its acquisition of Baja Marine LLC. Custom Marine Group will
leverage the decades‐long legacy of brand leadership built among the partners to accelerate superior
product development, enduring customer service, and consumer‐driven geographic expansion in its
reintroduction of the boating industry’s most iconic brands. CMG will deliver on their ongoing
commitment to the boating consumer by operating through a truly first‐class dealer network, in
which exclusively the best‐in‐class dealerships and marinas nationwide, certified to meet all of
CMG’s premiere standards, will distribute, maintain and service CMG’s iconic brands.
Carol Price, a 29 year veteran of Fountain Powerboats, couldn’t be more excited about the new

The purchase includes some of the most famous brands in the boating industry: Fountain, Donzi,
Baja, and Pro‐Line, along with the original Fountain Factory in Washington, North Carolina.
Manufacturing for all of the brands will continue to be based in Washington, leveraging all current
employees and expanded personnel to advance and optimize production. Price continued, “This is
the re‐birth of four of the world’s best boat brands.”
About the brands:
Fountain Powerboats was launched in 1972, focused on building the fastest, smoothest, safest and
most dependable boats on the water. Their ability to deliver on this commitment has been made
evident for decades as they’ve pioneered market dominance. Fountain’s diverse lines include
performance boats, center console solutions, and express cruisers anywhere from 27 to 48 feet long.
Donzi was founded in Miami in 1964. Donzi designs and manufactures over 20 world‐class
fiberglass recreational boats, catering to the powerboat and center console segments with models
ranging from 27 to 43 feet long.
Baja Marine began in 1971, actually doing so out of an abandoned roller rink. Baja has pioneered
endless innovations within the boating industry over the past 40+ years, and continues to either set or
redefine all performance boating standards, even being acknowledged by many industry experts as
the “evolution of performance.” Baja’s performance models are offered in lengths ranging from 23
to 35 feet.
Pro-Line started out as a small company building fishing boats for local guides in 1968, and has
grown to become one of the largest fiberglass fishing boat companies in the world. Pro‐Line serves
the Express, Pilot House and Center Console segments, offering models from 20 to 35 feet in length.
Pro‐Line will continue its pursuit of superior portfolios for all segments, and expects leading sales
within the ever-expanding center console market.
