Innovation from the very start.
“Semper lux” – always light. When Hermann Bansbach started his company in Berlin in
1948, the city still lay in ruins, with hardly any electricity or light. Hermann Bansbach
brought light into this dark time by brightening up the lives of Berliners with a simple, affordable battery lamp. He believed that light had a social and cultural significance that
went far beyond doing business and making a profit. That mindset is still alive today. We
also find it fascinating how we can add to the quality of people’s lives through sophisticated
lighting concepts. That is how Semperlux became Selux – and how a craftsman's shop in Berlin turned into a global company with 500 employ­ees in Europe, North America, and Australia.
Today the company generates over 80 % of its revenues outside of Germany.

Our innovations.
Cross Beam Technology (CBT)
Used to ensure homogeneous lighting of traffic
areas or squares by means of precise LED light
guidance. LEDs are preset in the direction of their
application for targeted use of the direct light
component. CBT is the perfect balance between
efficiency and visual comfort.
Gen3
Individual precision injection molded lenses
consisting of total internal reflection collimator
and one of three precision light-shaping lenses, is
flexible to shape, direct and distribute light.
Shaping the Future
Triple Lens Modules
Light distribution can be optimally adjusted
for various applications by flexible alignment
of optics. There is a wide range of color
temperatures in various power levels that are
dimmable. Triple Lens allows comfortable viewing
at night even when looking into the luminaire, as
well as complete versatility in application with the
full range of IES distribution types.
Light Modulation Optics (LMO)
LMO has precise control of linear light and
excellent uniformity providing the building blocks
for future oriented lighting schemes. The modular
design includes 6 distributions.
We know green design is no longer optional. You expect it, and we make sure it
goes hand-in-hand with creativity. We know one cannot just speak of green

light sources, parameters such as primary light flux under
operating conditions are difficult to compare.
Selux indicates the luminous flux of the systems for all LED
luminaires. That refers to the total lumens that are achieved
under normal operating conditions.

Compared with traditional light sources, the ratio between
the current and the usable luminous flux that leaves the
luminaire is essentially influenced by the driver technology
and the thermal management of the LED.
To ensure comparable results of the efficiency of planned
lighting layouts, Selux is publishing system light output
ratios. The values are always referring to a specific type of
luminaire, LED unit, specific optics and driver under operating
conditions. Selux LED optical systems are characterized by a
higher illumi­nance result due to more precise light control.

The thermal management of the Selux luminaires ensures
maximum life and lumen output. An alignment of the
operating current can also help where the environmental
temperatures can vary.

to 3300K, neutral white up to 5000K, daylight white over 5000K.
The human eye is more sensitive to color differences
at color temperatures below 3500K than at higher color
temperatures.
To avoid conflict in combination of LED luminaires with
traditional light sources, Selux LED luminaires are offered with
a close spaced color range.

installations, new luminaires can show visibly higher initial
lumens than the other luminaires that may have had a
luminous flux reduction.
Using Selux LED module tracking, it is possible to supply

to maintain the intended visual impression of the installation.
