Disconnect battery: 1. Disconnect Battery. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Follow instructions "A", if your engine has components shown in Figures 1 and 2. Figure 1. 3 Figure 2 Follow instructions “B”, if your engine has components shown in Figures 2 and 3. Figure 3. 4 C. :Instructions A. 1. Disconnect wire from engine oil pressure sending unit. 2. Remove oil pressure sending unit from engine block. 3. From the parts kit, locate the brass tee fitting and pipe extension. Apply a thin coat of thread sealant to the external threads. Install tee fitting and pipe extension into same hole the oil pressure sending unit was removed from. Tighten fitting so it's facing towards the rear of the engine, as shown in figure 4. Figure 4 4. Apply a thin coat of thread sealant to the oil pressure sending unit that was removed in step 2. Install the oil pressure sending unit into the "T" fitting as shown in figure 4. Tighten fitting. Attach the wire removed in step 1, to the wire terminal on oil pressure sending unit. 5. From the parts kit, locate the oil pressure switch and apply a thin coat of thread sealant to the external threads. Install oil pressure switch into "T fitting, as shown in figure 4. 6. Locate the water temperature switch, on the right rear side of engine. See figure 2. Remove the wire attached to temperature switch and connect it to the newly installed oil pressure switch terminal marked, "no". Tighten screw. 7. Connect a new 14 ga. Wire from Terminal "C" on the oil pressure switch, to a good clean chassis ground. 5 8. Locate the radiator fan relay under the driver’s instrument panel. This relay will have wires F1, F2, F3, and F4, connected to the terminals. Refer to figure 5 to determine what type fan relay is installed on vehicle. Figure 5 9. If the fan relay is sliver, proceed to step 15. 10. If the fan relay is black, it must be changed to the silver relay supplied in the kit. Proceed to step 11. 11. Remove the black relay. Disconnect all the wires from the relay terminals if not identified with a wire number, mark the wires and which they were removed from. Relay terminals are marked 30, 85, 86, 87, 87A. 12. From the parts kit, remove the silver relay and mount it under the drivers instrument panel with 2 (two) - ¼" x 20-½” bolts, 2 (two) ¼”ID flat washers, and 2 (two) ¼”ID lock nuts. 13. Cut existing wire terminals off, install new terminals supplied in the kit. as described in step 14: Wires F1 and F2 - Yellow ring terminals, Wires F3 and F4 - Blue ring terminals. 14. Attach wire "F1" to terminal "1" of the silver relay. Attach wire "F2" to terminal "4" of the silver relay. Attach wire "F3" to terminal "3" of the silver relay. Attach wire "F4" to terminal "2" of the silver relay. Tighten all silver relay nuts to secure wires. 15. RECHECK ALL WORK BEFORE GOING TO Preparation for using. 6 D. Preparation for using after Instruction A: 1. 2. 3. 4. Connect Battery. Turn ignition switch to the "on" position. Radiator fan should not work. Start engine. Radiator fan should operate as long as engine is operating. Instruction B: 1. . Locate the oil pressure switch on the left side of the engine (figure 3). 2. Remove the wire from the water temperature switch shown in figure 2, and attach it to the oil pressure switch, terminal, marked "no" shown in figure 3. 3. Locate the radiator fan relay under the driver’s instrument panel. The relay will have wires F1, F2, F3 and F4 connected to the terminals. Refer to figure 5 to determine what type fan relay is installed on vehicle. 4. If fan relay is silver, proceed to step 10. 5. If the fan relay is black, it must be changed to the silver relay supplied in the kit. Proceed to step 6. 6. Remove the black relay. Disconnect all the wires from the relay terminals If not identified with wire numbers, mark the wires and which terminals they were removed from. 7. From the parts kit, remove the silver relay and mount it under the driver’s instrument panel with 2 (two) - 1/4" x 20-½” hex head bolts, 2 (two) ¼”ID flat washers, and 2 (two) ¼”ID lock nuts. 8. Cut existing wire terminals off, install new terminals supplied in the kit as described in step 9. Wires F1 and F2 - Yellow ring terminals. Wires F3 and F4 - Blue ring terminals 7 9.
