SINAMICS S120 CM Application Marine Drive:
First choice for marine applications
Drives on board a ship must be able to withstand harsh
environmental conditions and guarantee the highest
degree of reliability. The liquid-cooled drive system
SINAMICS S120 CM Application Marine Drive is optimized
for use on the high seas, and provides the highest degree
of flexibility in the smallest space. Whether for pumps and
winches up to complex shaft generators, the drive offers
marine-specific functions – and is available as chassis or
cabinet unit. Further, it can be certified in accordance
with leading marine classification societies (DNV GL,
ABS, LR, BV, CCS, etc.).

An assessor of classification society XX accompanies
the acceptance in the test field, and issues a certificate. This verifies that the particular system complies
with the directives of the relevant society.
G51 additional TM150 Terminal Module
(6[4-wire]/12[2-wire]x PT100/KTY)
The TM150 Terminal Module is a DRIVE-CLiQ component that is used to evaluate temperatures. PT100,
PT1000, KTY84, PTC – and bimetallic NC contacts
can be evaluated.

Created for use on the high seas
SINAMICS S120 CM Application Marine Drive is our drive system that encompasses Motor Modules with a wide
range of power ratings and different infeed technologies. Power ratings extending from 100 kW up to 6 MW are
available. All of the relevant international marine classification societies and standards were taken into account
when developing this innovative system.
Well thought-out down to the finest details
The Diode Line Module has been designed as rugged
infeed for use on weak onboard power supplies. 6- up to
24-pulse infeed concepts are available to reduce line harmonics. The AFE concept with the Active Line Module is
used for 4Q applications – and in some instances also for
complex applications as well as those with high demands
regarding the voltage quality.
As small as possible, as large as necessary
Space plays an extremely important role in most vessels.
The converter requires a significantly smaller footprint as
a result of the effective liquid cooling. Degrees of protection up to IP54 can be implemented as the power loss is
dissipated to the cooling liquid.
Higher operational reliability
SINAMICS S120 CM Application Marine Drive is just as
suitable for weak power supplies with diesel generators as
well as for efficient onboard power supplies on vessels
with active line support. Specifically adapted filters ensure
optimum operation on the ship’s power supply. With its
rugged design, Marine Drive is also insensitive to high levels of vibration and shock, which are inherent to operation on the high seas.
