



Under our second 5 year IDIQ contract with VISN 1,
AI provides engineering design and construction
services to the various VA facilities across New
England. Design work under this contract includes
facility improvements such as new emergency
generator plants, new chiller plants, new boiler
plants and various building additions/renovations.
Construction services under this contract include
project oversight and management for preconstruction, construction administration and
construction activities, coordination of building
inspections, scheduling, and estimating. An
example of the construction administration services
we provide is the ongoing renovation of the VA
hospital in Providence, RI.
We have provided services for the construction of
eight (8) various sized facilities at the VA hospital in
Providence, RI. The contract has an estimated total
project cost of $20 million and some assignments
include project engineering for Building #1 masonry
re-pointing Phase 2 and replacement of the 6A and
6B wing roofs, black replacement roofing material

to a better LEED compliant white fully adhered roof
membrane, conversion/ remodeling within the
hospital including design and engineering for an
electrical room a temporary hemo-dialysis Clinic in
the former dentistry suite, a controlled drug
pharmacy room, design reviews and engineering
services for renovations to the PTSD clinic in Building
14, an armory in the T-18 police facility, extensive
code and design review for the new CBOC facility
in Hyannis, MA. AI's Resident Engineer/Construction
Administrator participates in the design process,
reviews all contractor submittals and distributes to
the appropriate COTR and CO for processing,
responds to contractor RFIs, inspects contractor
activities for compliance with Contract Documents,
VA, Code and other requirements and accepts or
rejects contractor work. He also reviews contractor
payment requisitions and certified payrolls.
AI’s representative has also reviewed several other
projects
during
their
design
reviews
for
constructability, conformance to VA Handicapped
Standards and National Code conformance.
