Managing Director and CTO
In the capacity of Managing Director my key focus ensure
independent oversight of the company strategy, execution and proper
running of the Company. Specifically, development and presentation
of the strategic and annual business plans to the Board for approval,
management of the the day-to-day operations of the company,
motivate, develop and lead members of the leadership team, ensure
that the Company has appropriate systems to enable it to conduct its
activities both lawfully and ethically.
Additionally, as a founder of this business, I was heavily involved in
raising over one million dollars in seed and series A funding.
In the capacity of CTO, my focus was to architect the software
systems and platforms required to support the product development
goals of the company. This resulted in the development of Adapptr.
This cloud based platform was designed specifically to adapt content
to cross platform mobile devices. This patented approach broke
through the constraints of App Store, Google Play constraints without
impacting the Apple and Android experience.

Uecomm is a subsidiary of SingTel Optus. Being responsible for three
key business areas, the Head Of Engineering play a key tactical and
strategic role within the SingTel group of companies. Executive
activities include technical planning, strategy and whole of business
alignment through broad senior management and executive
engagement.
Reporting to the CEO the Head of Engineering is responsible for 4
direct management reports (Infrastructure and Design, Product and
Specials, and Network Infrastructure Design and Architecture)
representing approximately 48 full time staff members. Annual capital
accountabilities of ~AU$50M and on-going full platform
accountabilities for network assets in the order of AU$600M.
Uecomm is the leading Metro Ethernet carrier in Australia and as such
key technology accountabilities include core and access technologies
(Ethernet, SDH, xDSL, EFM, Fibre, 3G Mobile and Wireless). Given
the significant size of the Uecomm national infrastructure exposure to
complex large scale VPLS deployments as well as significant product
development activities including MEF based Etherner Service
Constructs, Ethernet Quality of Service and MultiService Ethernet
products. Furthermore, managed the vast national fibre footprint of

At Novaxess was responsible for a team of 14 IP and voice network
engineers. As a team we were responsible for the architecture, design
and deployment of a major STM-16 national infrastructure for business
to business data communications. This included IP leased line services
and voice over IP as well as a full implementation of QoS. The voice
over IP implementation was realized based upon Cirpack next
generation class 5 voice over IP gateways interconnecting with the
national carriers PSTN networks. In addition to technical duties was
also a member of the senior management team and investor relations.
Furthermore, I was also regularly utilized by account managers to assist
in top end sales presentations and to ensure a professional and cohesive
technical solution was provided to customers. During 2004 Novaxess
BV was purchased by EasyNet Netherlands.

Was asked to manage the Versatel data network design team. This team
consisted of three people responsible for IP and ATM design. During
the time in this position, undertook expansion of the team resulting in
fourteen people focused directly on IP design. The direct outcome of
this team is the design, implementation and operation of the first
purely packetised OC-48 ring in Europe. Furthermore, was responsible
for the Versatel POP architecture, routing policy, overall architecture
and IP product designs. Responsibilities also expanded into the virtual
teams of network planning and capacity management. In these “teams”
was responsible for SLA reporting and capacity management.
Furthermore, my ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terms
has been used to provide technical support for product development,
senior management, investor relations and supervisory board
presentations.

has since been replicated to support other large-scale ISP type backend
systems.

knowledge. I was also heavily involved in dial access design and
backbone topology and design issues.

SpeedPort BV

As a co-founder of SpeedPort was involved in seed funding and other
financial and business activities. These activities included strategic
planning, business planning and network architecture. Based upon
these efforts, in co-operation with the other co-founders seed funding
was successfully obtained to build a small co-location centre and build
a tier 2 IP transit network. Once funding was secured I relocated to
Amsterdam and undertook to build the foundations upon which
SpeedPort would begin its commercial activities. This included
securing office space and rental contracts, commencement of vendor
relations and the first stages of the network and collocation facility
build. As the size of the company increased a more active role in the
facilities and network roll out was provided as an additional
responsibility. This include the design and architecture of the
collocation facility as well as network deployment aspects. The network
roll out included The Netherlands, leased line transatlantic connectivity
and a US based infrastructure. In addition to the roll out also executed
the building of a fully operational 24x7 network operations centre
including the selection and hiring of 11 operations staff.
In April of 1999 as part of the acquisition of SpeedPort by Versatel I
moved to the Versatel organization. Upon leaving SpeedPort the
collocation had been completed and sold, the network has expanded to
cover the Benelux and included an OC-3 trans-American network
including drop off at all US exchange points. The closure of the sale of
SpeedPort to Versatel was a successful exit from this start-up venture.

Working with Cisco Systems Australia was part of the Cisco account
team ( as a contractor ) for AAPT. Responsibility was to provide
technical backup pertaining to BGP routing and Internet services for
the AAPT account. As a deliverable for this job was the presentation
of a design analysis which was accepted by Cisco and used in
argumentation and justification to the customer in relation to their
designs.

complex regional network based upon Cisco hardware including a large
dial access platform based up the Cisco access path product. Vicnet
was the first Asia pacific customer to deploy the access path product.
As a result, Vicnet discovered many bugs and in response was
deployed into San Jose to work with the Cisco access path design team
to rectify these issues. Furthermore, whilst at Vicnet undertook the
deployment of a T1 based US peering network based in the bay area of
California. In conjunction with this deployment executed a roll out of a
complex IP over satellite solution based upon PanAm Sat space
carriage to serve IP in to rural towns and cities of Australia. This was
the second deployment of IP over satellite in Australia.
