The Department faculty members are handling B.E/B.Tech and M.Tech classes. It is well equipped with research laboratories and has dedicated staff members who are trained at renowned institute in India and abroad. Their research papers are well cited. The faculty members attract substantial financial support for their research activities from both State and Central Government funding agencies. The Department offers vibrant atmosphere to scholar to nurture the spirit of scientific inquiry and to pursue cutting edge research in highly encouraging environment. The active field of research includes Coordination Chemistry, Bioinorganic Chemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry, Photochemistry, Catalysis, Material Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Polymer Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Nanotechnology and Application of GIS in Environment. The Department is supported by CSIR, DST and TNSCST. The laboratory is equipped with modern analytical instruments and general wet chemical synthesis facility. The Department has several publications in reputed journals along with a National patent. Theme of the FDP The FDP aims at exploring the potential research areas in Chemical Sciences. The theme of the FDP is accomplished by focusing the challenges and issues in view to create a research ambience among the faculty members. The idea is to enrich the teachers with skills and knowledge, which in turn is used to cultivate and nurture research attitude among the students.
