STEEL LIGHTING STANDARDS
Design
The lighting standards shown here are designed for ground mounted applications.
Standards mounted on structures require factory consultation. The weights listed
within the following matrix’s include luminaire(s) and/or mounting bracket(s).

Pole Shaft
The pole shaft is fabricated from United States standard, structural grade, coil stock
steel, and conforms to ASTM A595 Grade-A. It is supplied in 11 gauge (0.1196”) or
7 gauge (0.1793”) standard. It is hot-rolled, commercial quality, weldable grade carbon steel with a guaranteed minimum yield strength of 55,000 psi after fabrication.
Poles over 39’ are of two piece construction.

Finish
The poles and brackets can be supplied with a state-of-the-art powder coat finish.
This is a process by which a thermosetting polyester powder is electrostatically applied and bonded to the pole using heat reaching temperatures up to 450°. Galvanized and custom colors are also available.

Base Cover
A full base cover is supplied. The base
cover is fabricated from automotive structural grade ABS plastic with UV inhibitor to
eliminate color fading. It is rust proof and
tamper resistant. We reserve the right to provide some applications with a steel base cover, depending upon finish requirements and/
or the pole shaft diameter. Both our plastic
and steel base covers are of two pieces and
are secured with fasteners that are supplied.

Hand Hole
A reinforced hand hole is supplied along
with a cover and locking bar. The hand hole
is welded to the pole shaft and is located 14”
above the base plate, 90° to the left when facing the pole under the luminaire arm, unless
otherwise specified. A ground stud with two
(2) nuts and washers is located in the pole
opposite the hand hole opening.

Anchor bolts
are fabricated from commercial quality, hot-rolled, weldable grade carbon steel with a guaranteed minimum yield
strength of 55,000 psi after fabrication.
The anchor bolts conform to ASTM F1554
Grade-55. The bolts have an “L” bend on
the end and are threaded to accept the nuts
and washers for leveling and anchoring of
the pole. The threads plus a minimum of
3” of the bolt are hot-dipped galvanized.
Four (4) anchor bolts, complete with two
(2) hex nuts and two (2) flat washers are
supplied with each pole, unless otherwise
specified.
