Temporary Millwright Apprentice
DMI Peace River Pulp Division is looking to fill the temporary
position of a Millwright Apprentice within the Mill’s Maintenance department. The Millwright Apprentice will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mill equipment. As a Team Member within this department, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, have a
strong work ethic and be a team player.
Expectations for this position include:
 Able to work a 4-10’s Schedule—Monday to Thursday
7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with operational shift work as required;
 Scheduled and short notice overtime—paid at double the
rate;
 Ongoing career development and expectation that one will
complete their Alberta Journeyman Certificate.
Qualifications and Experience








High School Diploma or equivalent;
Previous experience as a Millwright Apprentice through a
RAP program will be considered an asset;
Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills;
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication
skills;
Safety conscious individual;
Strong work ethic and drive for success;
Background in preventative maintenance practices is considered an asset.
Industrial experience and knowledge of a Computerized
Maintenance Management System (CMMS) will be considered assets.
The Peace River Pulp Division is located
20 km outside the beautiful town of Peace
River, Alberta, and is an integral part of
the Canadian forest products industry.
PRPD provides the NW region with over
300 jobs while sustainably managing the
forests and meeting environmental standards. An integrated forest products company, established in 1990, PRPD is a
modern hardwood/softwood kraft pulp mill
and has become one of the top ten pulp
producers in North America, producing
480,000 tonnes per year.
