The primary goal of this degree is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and technical abilities required of a graphic design position. Introduces methods, materials, and techniques of commercial illustration for magazines, books, editorials, and graphic communications. Emphasizes two-dimensional aspects of computer illustration using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Includes instruction in several software applications. Traditional and contemporary methods for creating type and typography are combined to provide an understanding of the aesthetic qualities of letterforms. Basic computer knowledge is assumed.
