The Gentex Commander Series Strobes (ST24) offer visual
alarms at low current. The Commander Series comes
standard with the 4 in. (10.2 cm) mounting plate. The
Commander Series has a minimal operating current and a
minimum flash rate of 1 Hz regardless of input voltage.
Commander Series appliances are UL Listed for use with
fire protective systems.

Functions
Strobe
The strobe maintains a minimum flash rate of 1Hz or greater
regardless of power input voltage. The appliance is capable
of meeting the candela requirements (75 cd) of the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for the 75 cd and
110 cd models. The appliance has an operating current of
57 mA or less at 24 VDC for the 15/75 cd model.

The strobes are polarized to allow for electrical supervision
of the system wiring. Each unit has terminals with barriers
for input and output wiring and can mount on a single‑gang
box, double‑gang box, or double work box with the use of
an adapter plate. Each unit has an input voltage range of
20 V to 31 V with either direct current or full‑wave rectified
power.

Mounting Considerations
The strobes are intended for indoor installations only; they
are not weatherproof for outdoor or drip‑proof
applications. Mount on interior walls so that the entire lens
is at least 80 in. (2 m) but not greater than 96 in. (2.4 m)
above the finished floor.
Use 18 AWG (1 mm) minimum wire.
Note
Do not use these strobe units in coded or
pulsed signaling circuits.
