VISN customized Single-Board RIO Evaluation Kit will help user getting started with NI embedded platform quickly.
The Eval-Kit contains:

The expander board offers: a) 30-Channel, 3.3V Digital I/O Port (Port 5.0~5.9; Port 6.0~6.9; Port 9.0~9.9)
The 30 DIO port can drive 3 mA DC Loads when used as DO Port. If configured as DI Port, it can receive both +3.3V and +5V Logic.
Each of the three 12Pin DIO header has a pair of +5V output for external application. These +5
V outputs are referenced to D GND and are connected directly to the internal +5 V power plane of the NI sbRIO device. Please make sure the total +5V Load SHOULD NOT EXCEED 1.4A. b) 16-Channel, +/-200mV to +/-10V, 16-Bit Analog Input (AI0~AI15)
The 16 Channel AI Ports can be configured as 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels. If you want to use them as differential pairs, you should make connection like this:

AI15 c) 4-Channel, +/-10V, 16-Bit Analog Voltage Output (AO0~3)
Each channel has a digital-to-analog converter that produces a voltage signal. When you apply power to the sbRIO device, analog output channels are unpowered until data is written to them.
When the channels received the first data, they turn on and drive the output voltage.
*d) 16-Channel, 24V Digital Input (DI0~15, NI sbRIO-964x/9642XT Only)
The 24V digital input channels are sinking inputs, meaning that when the device drives a current or applies a voltage to the DI pin, the pin provides a path to D GND.
*e) 16-Channel, Digital Output (DO16~31, NI sbRIO-964x/9642XT Only)
The 24V digital outputs require a 6-35VDC power supply separate from the sbRIO power supply.
Connect the device to DO and D GND, and connect the external power supply to the 2Pin power connector. Each channel has a continuous output current of 250mA, you can connect any number of channels together in parallel to source higher current.

DC Input: The power system input is one +14.8V/5200mAH Li Battery.
DC Output: +24V/1.5A; +12V/1A; +5V/1A. For example, you can connect the +24V to Single-
Board RIO, and +12V or +5V to your sensors.

Step 3: Power on the system b) Charge the Li Battery
The typical rated current of sbRIO is below 500mA, you may need to charge the Li battery every
10 hours. Make sure your battery is under good condition, running Li Battery under low voltage will reduce the battery’s cycle time.
The AC/DC adapter is a 16.8V/2.5A charger, it will take about 3 hours to full-charge your battery.
Full charge alert: RED LED turns to GREEN.
*c) Replace Li Battery
If you want to replace the Li Battery, please contact VISN first, low capacity battery may not work with this system.
Step 1: Remove the bottom screw.
Step 2: Disconnect and remove battery.
