OVERVIEW:
The PSC-ID-U-CM-3xx series dual technology
ceiling mount occupancy sensors combine the
benefit of passive infrared and ultrasonic
technoglogies. The sensor offers 360⁰ coverage to
detect motion in the controlled area by mounting
onto a flat ceiling. It offers convenient, costeffective energy savings for the users.
SENSOR OPERATION:
The PSC-ID-U-CM-3xx is a 24VDC voltage
sensor. The sensor turns lighting on when both PIR
and ultrasonic technologies detect motions. PIR
technology senses occupancy by comparing the
infrared energy between the moving object with the
background space. Ultrasonic technology uses high
frequency (32KHz) ultrasound to sense motion by
comparing the frequency shifting by bouncing back
wave. Once the light is on, detection by either
technology holds lighting on. When no occupancy
is detected for the length of the time delay, lighting
turns off. The PSC-ID-U-CM-3xx can be also set
so that only one technology is needed to trigger or
both technologies are needed to hold lighting on.
APPLICATION:
The PSC-ID-U-CM-3xx series sensors can work in
different applications due to its flexibility. It will
minimize the false trigger since the light won’t be
turn on until two technologies all sense the motion.
It suits for a variety range of spaces such as offices,
conference rooms and break room. Due to the low
cost and the great energy saving potential, the
sensor offers quick payback.
