PC Support Technician Job Title: Department: Reports to: Classification: PC Support Technician Technology Services District Technology Coordinator Exempt Summary To provide leadership in technology needs within the district. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitoring and responding to hardware, software and/or network problems using a variety of hardware and software testing and/or repair tools and techniques. Will be identifying problems and resolving hardware/network malfunctions and performing hardware and network maintenance, installation and/or replacement. Supervisory Duties None Qualifications Education/Experience Required: High School diploma or equivalent Actively taking computer science classes Knowledge of PC maintenance Basic knowledge of networking Certificates, Licenses, Registrations A+ certification preferred, but not mandatory Skills and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good organization skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously. Good negotiation skills with the ability to find successful resolutions for issues of basic complexity, escalating those that require supervisory involvement, when necessary. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under general supervision in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities. Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on call. The ability to pay close attention to details. Reasoning Able to follow directions independently and work in a team environment. Technology Regular usage and repair of Windows hardware is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required, including assisting others in their usage. The ability to install printers is required. The ability to install a wide variety of software is required. The ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP and related networking problems is required. The ability to configure equipment using a comprehensive checklist is required. Familiarity with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari is required, as is the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair these installations.
