Textbook - sixth edition of The Essential Cosmic Perspective, by Bennett, Donahue, Schneider and Voit.
MasteringAstronomy - online tutorial and homework companion to your textbook. In order to access this
site you must first register. Locate the “access kit” that came with your new textbook. Open it up and
carefully follow the registration instructions given below and be sure to enter the information EXACTLY as
indicated.

Important!!
1. When registering make sure to click on the correct textbook icon (sixth
edition of “The Essential Cosmic Perspective”).
2. Enter your first and last name exactly the way it appears on University
records. Double check that you have your last name and first name in the
correct field. Capitalize the first letter of your first and last names only.
Do not use all caps. Do not shorten your first name or use nicknames otherwise your
online work and grades may not be recorded! Also, be careful to enter the Course ID
correctly.

Click the “New Students” button under Register to begin the registration process.

grade. Read the “Users Guide” that came with your clicker so you will be familiar with
its operation. Before using your clicker in class or lab you must first register your
