The system continuously monitors normal unit status and automatically performs battery discharge tests at scheduled intervals. The testing improves unit reliability by exercising the batteries and einsuring functional emergency operation. The self-diagnostic logic circuits monitor for battery and charger malfunctions, transfer circuit problems and emergency lamp circuit failure. Failure of these functions is signalled by a dedicated, tri-colour LED indicator. The fault indication remains latched in the system until cleared by either correcting the problem or resetting the system. The Stanpro Auto-Test and Self-Diagnostics option utilizes a tricolour LED indicator to visually signal the operational condition of the unit. By combining this function into a single LED, Stanpro has greatly simplified the process of determining unit status. Additionally, the 3 colour system is highly intuitive and simple to understand: red for critical faults, yellow for functional faults and green for normal operation. Indication is further enhanced by appropriately flashing the indicated colour versus a steady state illumination. This “RED-YELLOW-GREEN” stoplight approach greatly simplifies trouble recognition by maintenance staff, thereby speeding repairs and enhancing equipment reliability. The SLEXT series are completely non-electrical so they can be installed in any location, including glass entranceways/vestibules, greenhouses and outdoor applications. This also insures that the SLEXT signs are non-sparking, making them ideal for explosionproof locations. Available with a 10, 15 or 20 year expected life, sealed tritiumphosphor light source are available in wall or ceiling mount (canopy included). The SLEXT series self-luminous signs utilize a sealed tritium light source. The tritium is sealed within several silicate tubes fitted into the ABS thermoplastic housing. The tubes are lined with phosphor which glows green in colour, in conjunction with the sealed tritium. The light output is unaffected by extremes of temperature or moisture. As specified, the sign will continuously illuminate at performance specifications for the rated duration of 10, 15 or 20 years. The light source requires no maintenance or service throughout the lifespan of the sign and all signs comply with the applicable codes and standards. Features Warranty The SLEXT series from Stanpro are supplied standard with a white, low profile thermoplastic frame, an optional extruded aluminum frame is available, contact factory for details. The frame secures the thermoplastic face and stencil and allows for simple wall mounting. An optional canopy easily attaches to the exit to facilitate ceiling mounting. The letter colour is always phosphor green and the stencil can be supplied in red (standard), green or black. Standard exit stencils incorporate peel out chevron/arrows. Custom wording or graphic stencils can be ordered. Please note that SLEXT signs are not governed by the requirements of the C860 standard due to the non-electrical design of the light source.
