Special probes and sondes are used so that the position, route and depth of this type of pipeline can be determined. A sonde is a battery-operated location transmitter which is inserted into a pipe with the aid of a pipe eel or a fibreglass location cable (GOK). The probe generates an electromagnetic field which can be localised with probe location equipment. The position and depth of the probe from the surface can then be determined. Application options The probe has a very wide range of potential applications. We provide specific solutions for your locating tasks. The GOK has two functions, the probe location and the line tracing. In the case of line tracing, the push cable is located in the same way as a metallic cable/pipe, whereas an end point location is carried out in the case of the probe location. Both methods simply require a location system consisting of a transmitter and receiver. An end point location is carried out in the case of probe location. GOK systems GOK 50-R Location frequency: generally 33 kHz (dependant on location system used) Diameter of probe: 4.5 mm 50 m push cable with connections for line tracing or probe location Additional push cable lengths and diameters are available (see table). GOK 60 m GOK with retrieval function is a further application. In addition to the line tracing, a M10 thread is located at the front for screwing on pulling aids or location sondes. Push cable lengths of 30 m, 60 m and 100 m are available for this. Suitable for line tracing and a possible option for probe location. Probes and pipeline sonde The battery-operated independent probes are available in various diameters, lengths and location depths and can be used for a wide variety of applications. They are water proof, robust and available in various frequencies / diameters. 640 Hz / 512 Hz probes can also be used in cast iron pipes up to a certain depth.
