Part III Certification Class: Anchor Recording French anchor of c.1760 (Diderot, Encyclopedie, 1751-1772) Where: UNC-Coastal Studies Institute Campus 850 NC 345, Wanchese, NC 27981 Who: NAS Intro course graduates (registration required) This is a non-diving class What: The NAS Part III Certificate aims to build a competent fieldworker through courses in a wide variety of theory and practical skills The Part III syllabus is divided into eight different models providing a variety of topics and courses to suit all interests: (1) Research & Information Technology (2) Archaeological Science (3) Survey (4) Excavation (5) Recording (6) Conservation (7) Ancient Technology, and (8) Managing Archaeology In order to gain a Part III certificate, participants will need to attend courses in six of the eight modules and accumulate 100 credit points. Credit points are awarded for each course, depending on the duration of the course.
