The power quality
• The electricity market act:
– Must meet the customers reasonable
needs.
– Must be as agreed between the network
operator and the customer.
– Must fit to the standards (EN-50160).
• Only way to get information on PQ is to
use metering devices.
6
EQL (Electricity Quality and Load)
• EQL is a power quality monitoring system for the
power distribution networks.
• EQL is a complete solution for monitoring the power
quality from the feeding station to the customer.
• EQL meters can be integrated with temperature
meters to monitor also temperatures in the location.
• EQL applications make power quality reporting and
monitoring easy.
7
EQL (Electricity Quality and Load)
• EQL grows and develops according to the
customers needs:
– A single EQL meter can be read locally with a
portable computer.
– EQL meter is possible to connect to telephone or
GSM network and read remotely and
continuously.
8
EQL (Electricity Quality and Load)
• EQL metering systems have been used in
electric utilities for several years .
– The EQL metering system is already selected by
several electric utilities.
– The long experience has proven that EQL is a
reliable system.
– EQL metering system can be developed optimally
while the customer requirements for power quality
grow.
9
EQL (Electricity Quality and Load)
• EQL benefits
– Continuous metering and monitoring in the distribution
network + automatic event logging
– Fast handling of the customer reclamation: immediate
metering with EQL and reporting to the customer
– Accurate information on the transmission capability of the
network.
– Accurate evaluation of the benefits of the network
reinforcements
– Customer service: the customer can get an energy
consumption report with the power quality report

EQL Meter 1(2)
•
Memory registering energy/quality meter,
that can be read automatically (phone
line/GSM):
– Energy meter: active power and reactive
power, three phases and total
– Apparent energy, three phases and total
– Quality metering
– impulse outputs (active/reactive energy)
•
Meter versions:
–
Direct connection meter:
3 * 230/400 V, 5(60) A, 50/60 Hz
