Description
The Maximum Demand Ammeter BIQ/BOQ 72/96n are used for measurement and indication of maximum demand current (BIQ) & maximum
demand current with instantaneous current (BOQ).
These instruments are used in thermal loading in power distribution Systems, Networks, Machines etc
The thermal bimetallic movement indicates the mean RMS value over 15 min. (optional 8min or 20min.), high torque of thermal movement
drives a maximum demand current pointer which is associated with instrument pointer. The maximum demand current pointer will remain at
the maximum value reached for consequent reading until reset by manually by sealable reset knob.
Bimetallic instruments have a specific inertia due to their thermal time lag making these instruments suitable to instruments maximum
demands.
For measurement of instantaneous RMS values a moving iron movement with pivot suspension spring loaded shock absorbing jewel bearing
and silicon oil damping is in corporated.
The moving iron movement has response time of approx 1 second.
BOQ 72/96n combines thermal bimetallic & moving iron movements paced diagonally in same case.
