and understand this instruction manual before use. Please pay

they are designed to call particular attention to potential dangers
when using any electrical product or appliance.

To reduce the risk of electroshock:
• Always unplug the UV Total Recovery sanitizer from an outlet when
not in use.
• Do not operate/drop near water or while bathing or swimming.
• If the device falls into water, unplug immediately before reaching
for the device.

fumes, smoke or liquids.

• Do not use on wet or damp shoes. Allow shoes to dry before using.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the device by the cord or yank
to disconnect from an outlet. Instead, gently grasp the electrical
plug and pull to disconnect.
• Never carry device by its ultraviolet light or mishandle the bulb.
• Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of a table or counter or
touch hot surfaces.
• Use the charger only in a standard electrical outlet (100V-240V).
• This device is intended for household use only and not for
commercial or industrial use.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only with manufacturer’s
recommended attachments and materials.
• Unplug the charger from an outlet when not in use.
• THIS DEVICE USES ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT (UV) TO KILL HARMFUL
BACTERIA
• Do not look directly at the light.
• Never turn on the device until it is placed inside the shoe and
covered completely by protective bag.
• Do not remove the device from the shoe while it is still turned ON.
• If the device does not automatically turn off after approximately 15
minutes, the timing mechanism may be malfunctioning. Turn off the
device, disconnect the power source and contact us immediately at
1.888. 689.6687
• This device is not recommended for use by people with reduced
mental, physical and sensory capabilities. Extreme caution should
be used along with careful supervision. The device should never be
left unattended in such rare cases.
• If the device is dropped and/or if the ultraviolet light is damaged or
broken, discontinue use.
• The unit should be placed inside protective bags at all times when
in use.
SAFETY
To prevent common problems associated with
electrical and/or ultraviolet devices:
• As a safety precaution, this device is equipped with two safety
features:
1. One Minute Delayed Start
2. Infrared Exposure (IR) sensor that detects human heat
approximately 3.5 feet away from the unit pauses device
automatically to avoid UV exposure.

PRODUCT FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Tiny microscopic organisms are all around you, in the air you breathe,
and especially in the socks and shoes you wear daily.
According to recent studies at the University of Arizona where
researchers tested people’s shoes, some interesting facts came to
light:
• They found 9 different species of bacteria of the type that can
cause infections in the stomach, eyes and lungs.
• They found that bacteria lives longer on the soles of shoes than
in other places. This is because as we walk we constantly pick
up new debris that feeds the growth of more bacteria.
• They found that children under 2 are most vulnerable to
these bacteria because they play on the floor and put their
hands and other objects in their mouths an average of 80 times
an hour.
• They found that the majority of bacteria contained coliform
that comes mostly from human and animal waste.
Why Do Your Feet/Shoes Stink?
Blame it on the bacteria. They normally inhabit your feet and crave
dark, damp places such as the insides of sweaty shoes where there is
no fresh air. They quickly multiply in heat and sweat conditions, and
not wearing socks multiplies them exponentially.
Under perfect conditions, bacteria colonies will take over your feet.
Bacteria inhabitants, inside your dirty socks and/or shoes, eat dead
skin cells and oils from your skin. The colonies grow rapidly and get
rid of waste in the form of organic acids. It's those organic acids that
smell so bad.
Some people’s feet smell worse than others because they sweat more
profusely. If you’re one of the unlucky, your feet are home to naughty
bacteria called Micrococcus sedentarius that produce more than just
stinky organic acids — they also produce stuff called volatile sulfur
compounds. Sulfur compounds are awful smelling (like a rotten egg),

How to Properly Use UV Total Recovery:
Troubleshooting
Situation: If your device doesn't start in one minute:
•
Step 1: Connect adapter cord into ON/OFF
switch.
Step 2: Plug the power supply into an outlet
(AC 100V/240V); red light will come ON,
noticeable on the adapter.

Step 3: Insert Right UV device into a right shoe
and Left UV device into a left shoe.

Situation: If your device doesn’t turn off:

The device will only run a full cycle of 15 minutes, if there is no
human heat or any heat source detected within one meter
(3.5 feet).
•
Unplug the device and call 1.888.689.6687 for technical
assistance.
Situation: If during the course of normal operation one of the
insert lamps shuts off while the other continues to run:

finished before removing. The ON/OFF
light must be in the off position

Make sure there is no heat source or moving human within 1
meter (3.5 feet) of the device.
Stay clear of the device (3.5 feet).
Check if it’s plugged in properly and the light on AC
adapter is ON.
If you checked these steps and your device is still not on,
please call 1.888.689.6687 for technical assistance.

As each shoe sterilizer insert has its own infrared sensor, it is
possible for only one insert to sense movement or heat,
temporarily pausing operation, while the other insert is
unaffected. This is perfectly normal. The paused insert lamp
will resume its 15 minute cycle once the heat/movement no
longer exists. When this occurs, one insert will complete its 15
minute cycle before the other.
Check to make sure there is no heat source or moving human
within 1 meter (3.5 feet) of the device. Once removed, the
insert lamp that is off should resume operation.
Do not push the ON/OFF switch while one insert lamp is
running and the other is not. This will cause the two shoe
inserts to be out of sync and will shut off the lamp that is on
and attempt to turn on the lamp that is off. If this occurs, to
bring the two inserts back into sync simply unplug the power
supply from the outlet. Wait a few moments, then plug the
device back in and push the ON/OFF switch to begin normal
operation.
If the problem persists, and the lamp is not damaged or burnt
out, call 1.888.689.6687 for technical assistance.

LIMITED WARRANTY
UV Total Recovery Technologies, Inc. (UVTR) is proud to stand behind the
quality and efficacious design of our patent pending sterilizer and sanitizer.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase. The lamps
carry a warranty of 60 days. This warranty does not cover normal wear and
tear or abuse. If this product is determined to be defected, UVTR will replace
the product at no charge. The purchaser must return the product along with
proof of purchase for replacement to:

warranty does not cover damage due to improper operation, maintenance, or

not cover Products sold AS IS or WITH FAULTS. Proof of purchase in the form
of a bill of sale or receipt, which is evidence that the unit is within the warranty
period, must be presented to obtain warranty service.

loss of use of this product or for any indirect, special, incidental or
consequential damages, or costs, or expenses incurred by the consumer or
any other user of this product, whether due to a breach of contract,
negligence, strict liability in tort or otherwise. UVTR shall have no liability for
any personal injury, property damage or any special, incidental, contingent
or consequential damage of any kind resulting from the use of this product.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or
the exclusion or limitation of consequential or incidental damages, so the
above limitation may not apply to you.
