Basic Laminate Types
Types 107 and 350 - Horizontal Grades
Type 335 - Vertical Grade
Similarities
Since the decorative sheet/finish configuration is the same on each of the
three basic types, wear resistance, stain resistance, fade (light) resistance,
scratch resistance and appearance properties are the same.
Differences
Primarily differentiated by the thickness and type of phenolic/kraft core
incorporated into the sheet. The core consists of multiple layers of kraft
paper saturated with phenolic resin for strength. The number/type of kraft
layers contribute to thickness, impact resistance and postformability of the
laminate.
Type 107 and 350 - Horizontal Grades
• Type 107 is 0.048” thick, type 350 is 0.039” thick
• Thicker composites offer suitable impact resistance for horizontal work surfaces
• Fulfills the AWI/AWS Section II - countertop 4.2.5.1 standard requirement
• Type 350 can be postformed with heat to create a profiled edge

A directional texture running the length of the sheet having a narrow, random, matte-gloss linear quality

A mixture of varying low gloss features combined with organic movement, indicative of the surface of an aged stone or an antique metal
• #38 Fine Velvet Texture
A smooth textured finish with moderate reflective value
• #52 Quarry
Emulates the “pitted” look of polishes stone

• 0.027” thick
• Thinner composites offer limited impact resistance for vertical applications
• Can be used in horizontal applications where limited impact is anticipated
