It is important for our family business that
we live our lives with purpose, including
responsibilities to one another and to
society. In that spirit we have defined
and articulated Rem’s core values, those
principles that guide our decision-making.
Our seven values surround Trust,
Respect, Quality, Wisdom, Imagination,
Collaboration, and Commitment.
By framing what we do within the
consciousness of these principle
promises we serve all of our stakeholders
well, from our customers to our suppliers,
from our employees to society at large.
Family and community continue to be at

REM’s Volunteer EffortsWorld Sight Day
World Sight Day is an annual day of global
awareness focusing on blindness and vision
impairment. Organized by the World Health
Organization (WHO), World Sight Day is
marked by events all over the world including
the REM Eyewear Los Angeles headquarters.
Providing underserved communities with
access to affordable and safe vision care is a
cause close to the hearts of REM executives
and employees alike. Joining forces with
campaign organizers Optometry Giving Sight,
REM dedicated the month of October to
raising funds for this critical cause.
REM staff worked together to end avoidable
blindness by hosting four events throughout
the month. Raising more than $1,000 through
bake sales, raffles and a company lunch,
REM employees were overjoyed to receive a
matching contribution from REM Eyewear for
a total donation of $2,376.
REM Chief Operating Officer Donna Gindy
said, “At REM, our mission is to provide quality
eyewear to individuals across the globe so
donating funds to World Sight Day is only
natural. Everyone deserves the chance to see
and REM Eyewear is happy to do whatever we
can to make that dream a reality.”
The funds will provide much needed eye
exams and glasses to women, men and
children who are blind or vision impaired
because of a simple uncorrected refractive
error. Changing lives one eye exam at a time,
REM is proud to be part of the solution to
ending blindness around the world.
