We ask this through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen. Our Mass Intentions for this Week Feb. 25, 8:00 a.m. - Personal Intention for Claire Ann Banga offered by Alex and Mary Banga. YEAR OF MERCY CORNER From Fr. Ron Andree Liturgy Commission, Archdiocese of Regina I wish to encourage every pastor of the Archdiocese of Regina to implement according to local circumstances, resources, and ability, the Lenten “24 Hours for the Lord,” which is designated for Friday, March 4/Saturday, March 5, 2016 during this Jubilee Year of Mercy. This is to be a diocesan-wide observance for the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. This initiative, initially proposed by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, promotes throughout the world the opening of churches for an extended period of time for the purpose of inviting people to the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The theme has been taken from the Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians, “God rich in mercy” (Eph 2:4). This exercise is again strongly encouraged by Pope Francis during the Year of Mercy: "The initiative of “24 Hours for the Lord,” to be celebrated on the Friday and Saturday preceding the Fourth Week of Lent (March 4-5, 2016), should be implemented in every diocese. So many people, including young people, are returning to the Sacrament of Reconciliation; through this experience they are rediscovering a path back to the Lord, living a moment of intense prayer and finding meaning in their lives. Let us place the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the centre once more in such a way that it will enable people to touch the grandeur of God’s mercy with their own hands. For every penitent, it will be a source of true interior peace." In some of the poorest countries, many of the lakes and rivers are polluted (dirty). People who use this water can get sick. We can conserve water and be careful how we use it. Try not to pollute water. You can support countries that do not have clean water. Consider making a donation equal to a drink item that is regularly bought by the family (i.e. a gallon of milk, bottled water, coffee, pop, juice, etc.).
