Adelaide City Council Waste and Recycling Service
Hard Waste – Now ‘at call’ collections
From 1 January 2016, Council will provide two FREE ‘at call’ collections per household per financial year replacing the quarterly scheduled collections. Electronic waste can be
included in hard waste collections. To book a collection either call the Waste Hotline on 8159 5001 or visit adelaidecitycouncil.com/hardwastebooking
Lost or stolen bins
Electronic Waste (E-Waste)
• To request a replacement bin, telephone Council on 8203 7203.
E-waste is banned from landfill in SA and should not be placed in your waste bin.
Residents can dispose of their E-Waste for recycling through Council’s Hard Waste
collection, or can drop off their TVs, computers and computer peripherals (printers,
scanners, keyboard, mice) FREE at:
•Replacement of lost or stolen bins requires a statutory declaration or Police
report number.
•Waste and recycling bins are the property of Adelaide City Council and must be left
at the property if you move.

Food Waste – in your green organics bin
•All your unused food and food scraps can be placed in the green organics
(lime green lid) bin together with garden organic waste.
•Most things that once grew can be put in your organics bin for composting unless
you already compost at home. Contents of organics bins are collected and turned
into compost.

•New residents can visit our Customer Service Centre (25 Pirie Street) or any
of Council’s Community Centres to pick-up a free kitchen organics caddy
and compostable liner bags to assist you separate and store food waste
in your home.
Household Hazardous Waste
Zero Waste SA provides a FREE service for the disposal of hazardous household
waste - pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, solvents, paints, pool chemicals etc at:

Residents who find the 240 litre recycling (yellow lid) bin not suitable for their needs,
can downsize to a 140 litre bin. To order a 140 litre bin to replace your current
