Quick Set-up
1. Battery
Open the back by lifting the bottom tab. Attach the battery to the lead and
then close the cover.
2. Setting up the Power Strip or Control Socket
Plug in your Control Socket or Power Strip to the mains. The LED on your
Power Strip or Control Socket will begin to flash immediately (if it doesn’t
please refer to ‘Additional Features - Reset’).
3. Pairing your energyEGG with Power Strip or Control Socket
Click the button at the top of your energyEGG once. The LED on your
Control Socket or Power Strip will change from quickly flashing to slowly
flashing. Click the energyEGG button again and the LED on your Control
Socket or Power Strip will stop flashing, confirming it is
now paired with your energyEGG.
The Power Strip
The Power Strip has six plug holes. Two of the outlets on the Power Strip
are always on and will not switch off with the energyEGG - ideal if you need
something left on, like a Sky+ box. The other four outlets can be switched ON
and OFF using the energyEGG.

4. Setting the Timer
Your energyEGG comes with a timer on the bottom. The timer will begin a
count down when you leave the room. At the end of the countdown it will
switch off lights and appliances. Great if you want to leave in a rush and your
appliances will switch off after a set time.
Set the dial at the bottom of your energyEGG® to your desired time. So if you
set the timer for 20 minutes, your appliances will turn off 20 minutes after you
have left the room.
Controlling Lights - Double Click
Your energyEGG can control a set of lights using a double click of the
energyEGG button (requires Smart Light Switch) as well as appliances.
This will allow you to control lights separately from appliances. The energyEGG
also has a day light saving function which automatically switches on your lights
when you walk into a dark room. If you do not have a Smart Light Switch
you can use the double click function to control a second group of Control
Sockets or Power Strips.
To set your lights to work with the double click follow the Quick Set-up guide
and replace the single click of the energyEGG with a double click.
Auto-on Modes - Lights and Appliances
The energyEGG can also be set to automatically switch on lighting and
appliances when you enter the room. To do this you must change the mode.
1. Entering Set-up Mode
To select an Auto-on Mode first press and hold the energyEGG button for 10
seconds - the energyEGG will beep once and the LED will flash red and green
continuously until you select a mode and click the button on your energyEGG.

Auto-on Lights and Appliances
5 Minute Setting - Normal Mode (no Auto-on)
Turn the dial at the bottom of the energyEGG to the number 5 and click the
button. This mode WILL NOT turn on any of the connected devices
automatically. This mode will only turn lights and appliances off when you
leave a room. This is the default mode.
10 Minute Setting - Auto-on Lights ONLY with daylight saving function
The daylight saving function will automatically detect the light level in your
room and switch the lights on when you walk into a dark room. Turn the dial at
the bottom of the energyEGG to the number 10 and click the button. Only the
smart light switches connected to your energyEGG will be affected.
(requires Smart Light Switch - sold separately)
15 Minute Setting - Auto-on Appliances
Turn the dial at the bottom of the energyEGG to the number 15 and click the
button. This means that when you walk into a room the appliances you have
connected to the energyEGG will switch on.
20 Minute Setting - Auto-on Lights and Appliances
Turn the dial at the bottom of the energyEGG to the number 20 and click the
button. This means your energyEGG will now have BOTH the Auto-on
appliances and Auto-on lights functions as described above.
Notes:
Once the Auto-on mode is set the energyEGG will not detect movement or
automatically switch anything on for 15 seconds.
The Auto-on mode will pause if you press the energyEGG button to turn lights
and appliances off during an Auto-on mode. This will prevent lights and
appliances coming back on when you remain in the room. If you leave the
room for the pre-set time and come back in the Auto-on mode will resume.
Home OFF
One button to switch everything off. Home OFF allows you to switch off
lights and appliances in multiple rooms at the press of one button - ideal if you
are leaving in a rush or if you want to switch everything off before you go to bed.
Your devices must be trained to learn the Home OFF signal. Follow the steps
below to do this.
1. Putting your Power Strip or Control Socket into Learn Mode
Put the Power Strip or Control Socket into learn mode by switching it off
manually, and then pressing and holding their button until the LED flashes.
2. Connecting the energyEGG
Now press the energyEGG button for 5 seconds and then release it. The
energyEGG will beep 3 times to confirm the Home OFF signal has been sent.
The LED on your Power Strip or Control Socket will no longer flash.
3. Turning the Power Strip or Control Socket off
The Peripheral is now connected to the energyEGG on a HOME OFF setting
and will respond to pressing the energyEGG button and the releasing after
5 seconds. Please ensure that your Power Strip and Control sockets are
in range to use this function.
Additional Features
1. Reset (Learn Mode)
To disconnect a Power Strip or Control Socket from all energyEGGs:
With the Power Strip or Control Adaptor off press and hold the button for 10
seconds. The LED on your Power Strip or Control Socket will flash slowly
and then quickly. Once the LED has flashed quickly the memory is clear and
the unit has been reset. It is now ready to be reconnected to your energyEGG
(See Quick Set-up).
2. Timer Off
If you do not want the energyEGG to automatically switch off your appliances
set the timer dial to the ‘Timer Off’ setting. Your energyEGG will now act as a
remote control for all your lights and appliances.
3. Replacement Battery Alert
The energyEGG will beep intermittently for 5 minutes when the battery
is low and needs replaced. This will be accompanied with a flashing LED.
4. Auto-off Alert
The energyEGG will alert you one minute before switching off appliances and
lights. It will countdown: 3 beeps on 60s, 2 beeps on 40s,1 beep on 20s and then
it switches off at 0s. (This alert will not work with any of the Auto Modes)
Troubleshooting
Problem
‘My energyEGG switches off appliances/lights while I am in the room’
Solution
Reposition the energyEGG and ensure there are no obstructions to
the field of view. If you use several energyEGGs, this may be a result of setting
up the HOME OFF function incorrectly - if so, repeat the HOME OFF set up
instructions.
Problem
‘My energyEGG does not switch off appliances’
Solution
Repeat set up instructions and ensure there are no obstacles blocking your
energyEGG. Should the problem persist, replace the battery as this can
also affect the range.
Problem
‘My energyEGG switches my appliances off when I leave the room to make a
cup of tea or go to the bathroom’
Solution
Increase the delay setting on the timer dial.
Problem
‘My energyEGG doesn’t switch off after exactly 5minutes’.
Solution
The energyEGG makes decisions about switching on/off appliances based on
your movement. For instance, if you’re energyEGG is in your hall and someone
quickly passes through, it will switch on selected appliances and lights for only
1 minute, instead of the entire set time.
Problem
‘My energyEGG keeps beeping three times and the LED is flashing ’
Solution
This could be the battery replacement alert. Replacing the battery should
solve this issue. Please also note that low battery can also affect the range of
your energyEGG
