7. Suitability for VDU workstations
Here, the suitability of luminaires for VDU workstations according to DIN
EN 12464-1 is specified. The degree number means that the luminance in all
luminaire planes beyond that angle does not exceed certain limitation values.
Depending on screen quality and screen visualisation, the norm specifies
different limitation values. In case of a positive display on screens with an own
luminance (< 200 cd/m2), a maximum of 1500 cd/m2 and in case of screens
with a high luminance (> 200 cd/m2), a maximum of 3000 cd/m2 is permissible.

2. Luminous intensity distribution
Luminous intensity distribution curves shown in the catalogue are represented
according to DIN 5032. Only both primary planes are displayed: 0°/180° planes
(at right angles to luminaire axis) as a continuous line and 90°/270° (parallel to
luminaire axis) as a dotted line. Curves are scaled to represent 1000 lumens of
lamp luminous flux.

3. Light output ratios ηLB
Light output ratios specified for each luminaire are calculated from the
relation of luminous flux ΦL (τL) emitted from the luminaire with an ambient
luminaire temperature τL = 25° C and further standardised conditions to the
sum of measured luminous flux of the lamps with open distribution transferred individually to the luminaire ballast.
In the case of LED luminaires, the principle of absolute photometry is increasingly applied. In this case, the light output ratio is indicated with 100%. Additionally, the luminous flux is indicated in the form of the measured luminous
flux of the luminaire.

4. Luminous efficiency
The luminous efficiency is the luminous flux of a bulb related to its electrical
power consumption.
In the case of LED luminaires presented according to the principle of absolute
photometry (light output ratio 100%), the indication refers to the lumen
output of the luminaire which is described by the ratio between luminous flux
of the luminaire and system performance of the luminaire.

5. Direct and indirect light components
For evaluating the efficiency and lighting effect of a lighting system within
a room, specification of the direct and indirect beam components is helpful.
6. Glare reduction according to UGR method
According to DIN EN 12464-1, not only is reflected glare considered but also
direct glare within a specific room. As a standard evaluation system the UGR
(Unified Glare Rating) method was introduced in Europe as part of the DIN
EN 12464-1 standard. Details concerning the UGR method are described in
the CIE 117 publication. The UGR values (lat. and long) of a lighting installation, determined according a table for the position of a standard viewer, are not
permitted to exceed the value specified by the standard. In order to compare
the direct glare of various luminaires, UGR values of a number of manufacturers are specified with reference to a so-called standard room. Please note that
a correct comparison is only possible if all room conditions are identical. In addition it must be noted that UGR values for a real installation may significantly
differ to those of the standard room.

According to EU Ordinance 874/2012, lamps and luminaires are classified
based on their energy consumption values. On luminaires, this marking relates
to the attributes of the lamps with which they can be operated. The energy
efficiency class A++ has the highest level of efficiency and Class E has the
lowest efficiency. The light-technical properties of the luminaire, such as the
luminaire efficiency, are not considered. The classes indicated in the catalogue
relate to a piece of lighting medium equipment in light colour 840 or 830. On
luminaries with replaceable lighting mediums, the efficient classes may vary
depending on the light colour used. The complete scale of possible classes can
be seen from the energy label on the luminaire. These can be downloaded from
www.regiolux.de.

Asthetic weightlessness, designed by BUSSE
Design+Engineering GmbH in combination with an excellent lighting technology and top values are what make
the alvia pendant luminaire unique. With wireless sensors
and EnOcean technology, once again the limits of what
is possible have been shifted in the area of connection
convenience. With sensors and controls, you use minimal
infrastructure for efficiency gains and convenience
based on consumers‘ needs. The technical specifications
of the luminaire practically speak a language of their
own: Suitable for VDU workstations, anti-glare shielded
according to current standard DIN-EN 12464-1. Its light
performance makes it very easy to illuminate even dual
workstations with only one luminaire. LED modules on
the top of the luminaire provide an attractive lighting of
the ceiling which also can be controlled separately within
the light management. Room heights are emphasised
impressively. All in all, a unique light which seems to defy
gravity.

concept for high-quality office lighting
Regiolux, in partnership with Busse Design+Engineering
GmbH, has developed the „visula LED“ design luminaire
for modern office environments. This innovative luminaire combines two highly-efficient lighting technologies
and guarantees a very homogenous light quality without
annoying light points. The direct/indirect lighting recommended for offices is provided by suspended luminaires
through LED edge lighting. visula helps create a pleasant
office environment. With a scaled-back design and slimline construction height (3 cm), all the components have
already been integrated in the luminaire.
visula also shows its characteristic versatility when adjustments are made to project requirements. It comes in
two different lengths and light technologies but this can
be customised, as can the light colour. The indirect light
proportion can also be adjusted to needs as required.
Alongside its high-quality design, visula also gains points
with a wealth of application benefits.

fraim – sophisticated lighting technology
and convincing design
An extremely slim-line luminaire with innovative Linear
lightpanel technology for superior lighting. The required
glare reduction is achieved via the light conducting
characteristics of a polycarbonate profile with prismatic
structure for light refraction and surface reflection. The
shape is neither influenced by joints nor disturbed by
additional metallic elements. Fraim offers light in its
most attractive form: simple, clear and reduced to the
essentials. A luminaire that can blend successfully with
sophisticated architecture and that sets sober accents.
A combination of sophisticated lighting technology, fine
materials and a convincing design.
The ultra-flat luminaire housing with only 16 mm visible
construction height gives fraim the appearance of a
floating, luminous surface within the room. The luminaire
body is constructed of naturally anodised, extruded
sectional aluminium, and face ends are of die-cast
aluminium coated white aluminum. All luminaires are
equipped for T5/T16 lamps and with the new Linear light
panel technology, and are additionally protected against
dust from above with the Linear lightpanel protector.

With peanut, light becomes an element for design. Whatever objects you are planning - offices, school or
lecture rooms, hospitals or shops - the whole range
of lighting tasks can be solved with just one luminaire
family: peanut. All peanut variations have one feature in
common: a well-shaped polycarbonate housing with patented labyrinth profile and fastening clips made of V2A
stainless steel. The all-round illuminated housing assures
an indirect light component for illuminating the ceiling
area and the closed and easy-to-clean surface an optimal
luminaire maintenance factor. The complete lighting
technology is entirely integrated within the closed housing, giving protection against soiling. We are also able
to create a wide range of further variations, including
optical and switching variations on request.

hokal – universal light canal system
The world in which we live is founded upon fundamental
forms of symmetry. The aesthetic quality of the hokal
luminaire family depends upon the specification of a
clear, concise design. And with an almost square crosssection, Regiolux has managed to capture the essence of
stylish modernity and outstanding technical quality. The
hokal luminaire family in the form of a light channel is,
as expected, a universally designed luminaire concept.
In terms of functionality you can plan with the wideranging spectrum that is typical of a Regiolux luminaire
family. And applications are also accordingly widely
based. Recessed luminaires equipped with either one or
two lamps are available for cutout ceilings and panel
ceilings. Lighting design with surface-mounted and
suspended versions, either with direct/indirect or purely
direct light distribution can be implemented according to
needs and with cost efficiency in mind, and an emergency light version is also available for safety lighting.
Control components and sensors in master luminaires are
just some of the possibilities for exploiting energy saving potential. Diverse optics help to achieve an optimal
illuminated atmosphere, so that viewing comfort, visual
performance and safety as evaluation criteria for lighting
in various types of rooms always achieve top marks.

for lighting landscapes
The extremely compact dimensions are the most obvious
characteristic of the product design. Powerful micro-parabolic louvres with low profile lamellars make this possible.
Using connectors and shape joints you can combine single
lights to a light run or even a complete light landscape.
The integration of other components such as loudspeakers and intelligent sensoring systems are also possible this
way. This way, more tasks may be assigned to the often
more easily accessible lighting level.
The procube lights are especially attractive when combined with the multitude of applications. This is valid both
for the direct lighting from a surface mounted lamp and
also the direct / indirect pendant luminaire procube-CU.
And on the lighting technological side the luminaires are
on the safe side as well, as they are anti-glare and compliant with DIN-EN 12464-1. The extremely high efficiency
is due to the louvre material with reflection amplification by a pure silver coating. This makes the light family
procube the modern solution for multifunctional light run
solutions and light landscapes.

The powder-coated Sheet steel in traffic white or white
aluminium is a genuine purist with its rectangular cross
section. The end caps of same colour made of plastic with
integrated light run connector are easy to detach and to
replace with a suspension bracket for the mounting, with
light run, which accommodates a Y-wire suspension.
That makes one suspension point less per luminaire and
thus saves a great deal of installation time. An additional
advantage: The louvres are thus optically seamless. The
through wiring is quickly and easily implemented, thanks
to the three-pole plug-in connection terminal clamps.
Configuring of cables is not necessary with use of the
through-wiring accessories. What all versions have in
common is the light distribution via aluminium parabolic
louvre; only in case of the LED version, there is also
available a satined diffusor.Luminaires with T5 and T8
lamps with darklight louvre (RSADIC) or LED with matt
aluminium parabolic louvre (RSAXHC) have omnidirectional glare reduction 65°< 1000 cd/m² according to DIN
EN 12464-1 and are therefore suitable for the illumination of VDU workstations. The version RSAGHC LED with
satined diffusor and RSXAIC T8 with matt aluminium
parabolic louvre is above all designed representative
general illumination. Numerous variants for dimming and
emergency light are implementable via accessories or
from the factory on request.
