Clark Kerr Campus 2601 Warring Street, Berkeley, CA 94720 . PARKING All Clark Kerr Campus parking is enforced by UC Berkeley Parking and Transportation. Parking will be available in the Southwest / Northwest Parking Lot. Parking permits are required and must be placed on the dashboard of each vehicle. No parking is allowed in the Horseshoe Parking Spaces. This includes disabled parking spaces unless a “UC Central C permit” is displayed alongside placard. Yellow Zone is for loading only. One person must remain in vehicle at all times. Non-Campus Permits - For participants who do not have a campus permit, permits must be ordered by the Client in advance and will be charged to the master bill. We cannot collect directly from individuals for permits and any unused permits cannot be returned for credit. Purchasing permits, and parking in designated parking lots, is strongly encouraged so that the neighborhoods adjacent to the residential facilities (mainly those near Clark Kerr Campus) are not negatively affected by traffic, and conference guests are not restricted by the City of Berkeley parking laws that apply to those streets adjacent to them. Welcome to Clark Kerr summer conference 2016 INFORMATION & POLICIES CLARK KERR FRONT OFFICE We hope your stay is enjoyable. The front desk is located in Building 1 and is open from 7:00am to 11:00pm Monday through Sunday, Seven days a week. If you need assistance during these hours, please come to the front desk. You can also call the front desk number for assistance, 24 hours a day, at (510) 642-6290. ROOM & ROOMMATE ASSIGNMENTS Your room and roommate assignments were made in advance with your conference organizer. Please do not make room changes. KEYS Your assigned building and room number are printed on the paddle attached to your key. This key will allow access into your room, as well as all Clark Kerr common areas in your building. Building and Room door automatically locks behind you Please carry your key with you at all times. Lost keys are serious security risks. If you lose your key, you must contact the front desk right away. There is a $50 key replacement fee for residential halls and a $75 key replacement fee for suites. LOCK OUTS If you are locked out of your room during office hours, go to the Clark Kerr front desk to receive a temporary key. If the office is closed, call the clerk on duty at (510) 642-6290 and the clerk will let you into your room. Please be prepared to show the clerk photo identification. LOST MEAL CARDS You may have been issued a meal card (if pre-arranged with your conference) which you must present each time you enter the dining room. If you misplace your meal card, contact the Clark Kerr front desk. MAIL If you receive a letter or package, a notice will be posted on your bedroom door. Letters should be addressed as show below [Your Name] [Name of Your Conference] 2601 Warring Street Berkeley, CA 94720-2289 MAINTENANCE If you notice that a repair is needed in your room, please contact the Clark Kerr front office and our maintenance staff will address the problem as soon as possible. FIRE ALARMS The fire alarm is an intermittent, shrill horn. At the sound of the alarm, you must vacate the building. The Fire Department will check all rooms and issue fines to those who do not vacate the building. INTERNET CONNECTION UC Berkeley provides complimentary wireless internet for visitors on campus. When searching for a wireless network, select “CalVisitor” to get online. This service is available in all rooms and buildings across campus. No password is required. VENDING MACHINES Snack vending machine are located in buildings 1 and 2. Soda machines are in Building 2, 8 and 12. An ice machine is located in building 2. Laundry Rooms Washers and dryers are coin operated ($2 for washer, $1.5 for dryers). They are located in Buildings 2, 4, 9, 11 and 12. Follow signs. RESIDENT HALL CONDUCT AND REGULATIONS Possession, consumption, distribution, or being in the presence of alcohol by residents under the age of 21 is prohibited. Consumption of alcohol by residents who are 21 or older is permitted only in the resident’s assigned room, and with the provision that the door is closed and no individuals under the age of 21 are present. SMOKING The University of California, Berkeley is tobacco-free, meaning the use of tobacco, smokeless tobacco, or unregulated nicotine products (i.e. “e-cigarettes”) is strictly prohibited in indoor and outdoor spaces owned or leased by UC Berkeley. Emergencies In case of an emergency, gather in the Grand Courtyard. (see Map) (510) 642-3333 I UCPD emergency (510)-642-6760 I Non-emergency NOISE City of Berkeley quiet hours are from 10pm – 8am daily. Unreasonable noise or noise that disrupts residents or neighboring community members (i.e: yelling, screaming, amplified sound, honking car horns, etc.…) at any time is prohibited. Conference programs that repeatedly violate the noise ordinance may be asked to vacate the facilities upon identification of the infraction. As well, organizations whose members repeatedly violate these good neighbor practices during their stay at the Clark Kerr Campus may also become ineligible from utilizing the facility in the future. PATH OF TRAVEL FROM CLARK KERR TO MAIN CAMPUS While traveling to the main UC Berkeley campus, Warring Street to Piedmont Avenue provides the most direct access. We strongly encourage guests of the Clark Kerr Campus to follow this route in an effort to maintain good standing with the local neighborhood associations.
