GFI Symposium 2014 Dr. Diego EZCURRA My Introduction There are so many things that can be improved in the IVF process to maximize the chances of patients to have the baby of their dreams… so many... Even after more than 30 years of experience and evolution in protocols of stimulation, gametes and embryo technologies, improvements in laboratory equipment’s and total quality management, we are still limited in the chances of improving take home baby rate. Part of the issue is related with the lack of validated objective biomarkers to help us define the right treatment for the right patient, define the most viable gametes, the embryos with the highest implantation potential and finally the status of receptivity of the endometrium before transfer. At Merck Serono we strive for continuous improvement in science and innovation and that is what GFI is all about, work in collaboration with the brightest and greatest minds in fertility to increase the chances of patients to have a baby. We feel extremely proud and excited with the possibility of introducing at this symposium some of the most exciting technologies under development by GFI investigators from around the world.
