Comment on the ZVEI-Index for grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES)
The attached index shows the development of prices for GOES in the German
procurement market since January 2004, based on January 2004 = 100 %.
The index is focused on GOES-products which are typically used for the
manufacturing of distribution- and power transformers, being the sheet-thicknesses of 0.23 mm, 0.27 mm and 0.30 mm.
Base for the index are data from current contracts and do not consider prices
at the spot market.
Thus the index is updated monthly, in the first week of the month with the value
of the last month.
