For additional details on installation and operation, visit www.alpha.com and download a copy of the FlexPointTM FPR1207-F/FPR1207-F Technical Manual. The FPR1207-F is an optical network terminal (ONT) power supply that provides 7W of primary and standby power at 12Vdc. The FPR1207-F converts customer supplied 120Vac/240Vac, 50/60Hz outlet voltage to a 12Vdc output. Status reporting is provided locally via audible and visual alarms. Standby power is provided by one 7.2Ah battery installed in the FPR1207-F. Upon loss of AC power the FPR1207-F supports the load until the battery reaches 25% remaining usable capacity. At that point, the FPR1207-F enters sleep mode preserving capacity for emergency calls. Pressing the Emergency Use button accesses the remaining capacity. ONT Single, one second beep Single 0.5 second beep every 15 seconds at 25% SOC Double beep every 15 minutes Safety (US): Environment Storage Temperature: FlexPoint™ FPR1207-F Quick Start Guide FlexPointTM FPR1207-F Up to 6' (1.8m) Network Area Customer Area FPR1207-F RG6 or similar home coax cabling. Up to 50' (15m) Fig. 1, System Block Diagram CAUTION! The power supply cord is used as the main disconnect device. Verify the socket/outlet is located/ installed near the equipment and is easily accessible. Installing and Connecting the FPR1207-F 1. Unpack and inspect the FPR1207-F. 2. The unit is designed for use in a sheltered environment protected from rain and snow. Its operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C / 32°F to 104°F (ambient). Install the unit near an AC outlet. 3. Remove battery compartment door by pressing tab and opening door. Remove the door and set aside until the installation process is complete. 4. Determine the necessary cable length to provide appropriate service loops between the FPR1207-F, the ONT, and the outlet. Plug the line cord into the receptacle on the back of the FPR1207-F. Do not plug the FPR1207-F into an AC outlet until the last step of the installation procedure. 5. Mount the FPR1207-F to the wall with #12 fasteners or equivalent, using the keyholes for easy mounting. For applications (with 7.2Ah battery only) with higher seismic requirements, use the round holes in the back of the unit for direct fastening to a stud or other structural feature. 6. Connect Coax cable to F-type connector. Torque to between 4.1 in-lbs and 6.1 in-lbs. 010-344-B0-001 Rev. B (2/2014) 1 WARNING! Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Recycle spent batteries in accordance with local regulations. .200" 2 7.8" 198mm Ø.380" Battery Installation / Replacement Procedure 1. (Failed Battery Replacement) For units with Alpha part number 010-344-20-001 (note that the final three digits in bold are the key indicator), disconnect the AC line cord from the AC power outlet before beginning battery replacement. 2. (Battery Replacement / Failed Battery Replacement) Disconnect the wire harness to the battery. 3.0" 76mm Ø.250" 1 3. Connect the wire harness to the charged battery (a fully charged battery reads about 13Vdc). 4. Install the battery in the cradle as shown in Fig. 8. The locking tab secures it in place. 2.5" 63.5mm 5. Replace the battery compartment door. To replace the front cover, align the hinges with the hinge sockets and press them in with the door perpendicular with the main housing. Rotate the door closed until the closure door latches. 2 6. Plug the FPR1207-F into an AC power outlet. The Green LED should light. 2.4" 61mm 1 7. Verify the unit is functioning properly by unplugging the unit. The alarm should sound for one second and the Green LED should flash. The unit will be running on standby battery power. 1.3" 33mm 8. Re-plug the FPR1207-F into an AC power outlet. The unit is ready to be placed into service. 8.7" 221mm 1 2 3.0" 76mm Mounting holes for customer-supplied #12 hardware or equivalent "Keyhole" slots for easy mounting Fig. 2, FPR1207-F Dimensions (in/mm) (Viewed From Back) Fig. 6, 7.2Ah Battery Fig. 8, Battery Installed Fig. 7, Battery Compartment, With Wire Harness FPR1207-F Controls and Indicators R VISUAL STATUS INDICATORS Battery Emergency Use 1 Silence Alarm Silence Alarm Battery Emergency Use 1 2 2 Green LED: Green LED flashing: Red LED: Red LED flashing: AC mode Battery mode Replace battery Battery missing / Low battery 1 2 Remove cover to access silence alarm and battery emergency use buttons.
