At DEKRA we have an agreement with MET Laboratories to make this process as smooth and cost-effective as possible. MET is a leading independent laboratory which tests to North American standards. Thanks to this agreement, MET can now use DEKRA test data, saving you both time and money when submitting products for testing and certification. Global reach Our service portfolio DEKRA and MET Laboratories have test laboratories in Europe, the US, China, Korea and Taiwan. These facilities provide a wide range of services, including product safety, EMC and ENERGY STAR® testing. MET Field Evaluation Our credentials DEKRA offers the MET Field Evaluation service for electrical machines, installations and other electrical equipment manufactured in limited quantities and supplied to North America. Our inspectors come to your production site to check the installation, the components used, markings and the electrical circuit diagrams. Final acceptance tests are then undertaken under our supervision. If your product passes the tests, the appropriate certification labels are affixed to it and you can ship it to the United States or Canada. The final check by the local inspector will then be limited to checking the correct installation of the machine or panel. The agreement between DEKRA and MET gives you improved access to the North American market. But it does more, it also saves you time and costs, as MET can use data from tests that have already been carried out by DEKRA, thus avoiding the need for duplicate testing. MET Field Evaluation by DEKRA gives you a number of important advantages: our project managers are experts in this area, they are fully familiar with the criteria and they understand your products. In a preliminary consultation we will inform you about the procedure, the relevant regulations and specific requirements for your application. We know the differences between the European and North American requirements and we can advise on non-conformities that require modifications of your product. If you are properly prepared, testing for MET Field Evaluation can be completed in one day.
