Choose the appropriate Control Unit. This project requires four zones, therefore a GRX-3104 is selected. Choose a 3500 Model Control Unit if programming the system from a PC and saving light levels at 1% increments is required. Typically, a separate GRAFIK Eye Control Unit should be included for each distinct room/space in a project. See ordering pgs. 14–16. For example, for 10 zones: 4-zone + Control Unit 6-zone Control Unit = 10 total zones Step 3 Select Load– Appropriate Interfaces Design Tips Loads greater than the GRAFIK Eye 3000 Series Control Unit zone maximum? For incandescent, magnetic low-voltage, neon/cold cathode, and Lutron Tu-Wire™ Fluorescent Dimming Ballasts, use NGRX-PB to increase zone wattage capability (see ordering pg. 18). For multiple load circuits per zone, use Hi-Power 2•4•6™ (see ordering pg. 19). Dimming electronic low voltage loads? Use ELVI (see ordering pg. 18). Dimming Lutron Hi-lume® or Eco-10™ (ECO-series) Fluorescent Dimming Ballasts? Use FDBI (see ordering pg. 18). If a project requires 277V Lutron Hi-lume or Eco-10 (ECO-series) Fluorescent Dimming Ballasts and the rest of the loads are 120V, a Hi-Power 2•4•6 must be used for the 277V zone (see ordering pg. 19). Dimming 0-10V Fluorescent Dimming Ballasts or switching non-dim loads? Use GRX-TVI (see ordering pg. 19). Select Power Boosters/Interfaces for specific wattages/loads. Specific zones require Power Boosters if load wattage exceeds maximum capacity per zone (max capacity per zone found on Control Unit ordering pages 14–16). GRAFIK Eye 3000 Series Controls Units can control incandescent, magnetic low-voltage, neon/cold-cathode, and Lutron Tu-Wire™ fluorescent loads directly. When electronic low-voltage or fluorescent loads need to be controlled, a load-specific Power Interface is required. For this project, Zone 2 is an electronic low-voltage load. Therefore, an electronic low-voltage interface is required. Zone 4 is a Hi-lume® fluorescent dimming zone; therefore, a Fluorescent Dimming Ballast Interface is required. See ordering pgs. 17–19. Control Circuit feed is shown coming from the GRAFIK Eye Control Unit’s feed. The load for each HP 2•4•6 module connected to the circuit is 20W/VA. If the circuit does not have sufficient capacity to support the load of the module(s), the HP 2•4•6 Control Circuit feed can be supplied from any 120VAC circuit with sufficient capacity as long as it is on the same phase as the GRAFIK Eye Control Unit. Do not use with generator-supplied power. 2. Load type should be set as incandescent on the GRAFIK Eye Control Unit. 3. Dimmed Hot is shown as Zone 1 in the diagram, but can be provided from any zone on the Control Unit. 4.
