CIGRÉ SC C6 Wind Turbines issue: Any new work on “renewables” should be first studied by C6 who should provide some basic information. Subsequently the work should whenever appropriate be transferred to other SC for further consideration in line with their own scope. Therefore coordination with other SCs will be an important issue for C6 (see revision of SC title and scope). Wind Energy and Grid Integrartion 3 2. CIGRÉ SC C6 Title and Scope revision TITLE: Distribution Systems and Dispersed Generation Distribution, Dispersed Generation and Renewables SCOPE: The activities are principally concerned with the assessment of the technical impacts and requirements which a more widespread adoption of dispersed generation and integration of renewable based generators could impose on the structure and operation of the system. The activities also regard the study of the medium long term evolution of distribution as expected by the utilisation of DG/RES and related technologies. In parallel, the Study Committee should assess the degree to which such solutions are likely to be adopted in the short, medium and long term. The practical importance and timing of the related technical impacts and requirements should also be assessed. Rural electrification, demand response and application of storage are within the scope of this Study Committee. Through its work the Study Committee strives to objectively analyse the implications of DG/RES utilisation and to become an internationally recognised forum on this evolving subject. The SC shall co-operate with Study Committees A1, B4, C1, C2, D1 and D2 concerning emerging DER and related technologies and the relevant effect on the system as well as with other System Study Committees.
