SUMMER DAY CAMP - 2016
Horses have been the central focus in programs offered at Rocky Top Ranch for kids and adults
for over a quarter century. Summer Day Camp offers weekly sessions to teach the basics of
horsemanship to kids from 7 years old and older. Sessions are limited enrollment (10/class).
Kids work on the “buddy system” and become a team with their horse, gaining confidence, self–
awareness and discipline while have a great time.
HORSEMANSHIP not only includes riding the horse, but teaching safety, grooming,
tacking, feeding, bathing and barn management…...a week of fun and new friendships!

SUMMER DAY CAMP !
We are excited about you joining the fun at Rocky Top Summer Day Camp!
This letter is to tell you more about camp and to give you a camp list to bring.
The first day of camp all campers will meet at the Pavilion on the hill in front of the Barn
……..on the first day of camp, come with your parent at 8:15 a.m. to complete all paper work and pay
tuition if needed. The hours of camp are 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Wear jeans and boots or heeled shoe when arriving. Bring a bag with shorts, bathing suit
for bathing horses, towel, sunscreen lotion, and tennis shoes. Wear a cap or hat to keep the sun
off your head. Riding helmets will be provided but you may bring your own if you have one.
You will need to bring a sack lunch. Drinks and snacks are provided. .
Water will be at all stations to insure campers drinking.
Each Friday at 1:00 p.m. will be a presentation for the parents to show what you have
learned at camp and give a photo opportunity. It is always amazing for all to see how much the
campers learn in a week. We feel this week will help prepare each camper to take care of and enjoy a
horse of their own as well as enjoy riding for fun!
