Made in the U.S.A.
SET-UP AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. The XBO lamp is shipped in a separate box within Lens Inspection QC X75 shipping box
Lamp Installation:
a. On the top of the lamp housing, completely loosen the two captive fasteners
b. Remove the top, exposing the lamp socket
c. Open the lamp box and carefully remove the lamp from its protective plastic packaging
DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS – ONLY HANDLE THE LAMP ON THE METAL ENDS
d. Examine the lamp ends for the “+ positive” and “– negative” markings
e. Locate the two lamp clip holders in the housing. With the glass pontil tip facing up, place the
“– negative” end on top of the smaller front clip and the “+-positive” end on top of the larger back
clip. Push the ends of the lamp into the clips with your thumb while holding onto the outside
bottom of the lamp housing for leverage.
f. Replace the top of the lamp housing and tighten the fasteners.
2. To move the lamp housing up or down the Vertical Support, or to turn the housing 90⁰ left or right,
loosen the knob at the back of the support. Be sure to tighten completely when positioned.
3. LIX75 operates on 90-260V AC, 50-60HZ
Push the grounded plug into the appropriate receptacle and turn on the red power switch located on the
left side of the base. The lamp should turn on immediately. If not, replace lamp.

time the Lens Inspection QC X75 is used to ensure a clean visual field.
5. The Serial Number/ Part Number Bar Code label is on the back of the unit in the lower left hand corner.

CARE AND CAUTIONS
1. Lamp
To get optimal use from the XBO lamp, only handle the lamp by the metal ends. Never touch the glass
bulb or shaft of the lamp with bare fingers. IF TOUCHED, THE GLASS MUST BE CLEANED before using
with a lint-free cloth moistened with alcohol (spirit) to remove oils left from the skin. If fingerprints are not
removed, the skin oils can cause the lamp to discolor and fog, weakening the quartz glass and can even
cause the glass to fracture, rendering the lamp inoperable and increasing the risk of the lamp exploding.
For safety reasons, replace the XBO lamp at the end of its rated life (400 hrs) as there is increased
risk of the lamp exploding if used longer. Do not look at the lamp directly.
Recycling: The lamp manufacturer recommends recycling of spent lamps. Check your local
Environmental Laws to determine how to recycle.

We recommend saving the lamp packaging, with its inserts, for reference or in the event that the lamp
and /or unit need to be returned.(See Warranty requirements.)
2. Lamp Housing Glass Cover
The XBO lamp that comes with the Lens Inspection unit generates UV which can have a detrimental
effect on plastics, textiles and is potentially harmful to eyes and skin. The Glass Cover on the underside
of the Lamp Housing is a special UV dichroic filter that blocks UV emissions. The glass cover also
protects the user in case of catastrophic lamp failure.
DO NOT OPERATE THE LENS INSPECTION QC X75 WITHOUT A GLASS COVER.
If the glass breaks, order a replacement from Bulbtronics. Ordering code #0085692.
3. High Voltage Warning
The Lens Inspection QC X75 sends out a high voltage ignition pulse which may damage sensitive
electronic instruments. The use of this unit in the presence of integrated circuitry or CCD cameras is at
user’s own risk.
In the event of a power surge and the built-in circuit breaker is tripped, reset by pressing the rocker
switch, located on the back of the base next to the electric cord connection.
MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Lamp Housing and Base
The lamp housing is designed to permit air flow to dissipate heat generated by the lamp. KEEP
APERTURES IN HOUSING OPEN AND DUST FREE to prevent the lamp from overheating which would
shorten the life of the lamp.
The base houses the electrical components. Please be sure to keep the area under and around the base
dust and dirt-free. Keep the visual area on top of the base clean and free from dust and dirt so as not to
compromise quality control results. Use a dry, lint-free cloth.
2. Glass Cover (on underside of Lamp Housing)
Remove the glass cover (UV dichroic filter) periodically to clean to ensure optimal brightness and to
ensure that the imperfections that show up on the lamp base are from the product being inspected, not
from dust and dirt particles in the environment. Use a lint-free cloth and alcohol (spirit) to clean both sides
of the glass.
To remove the glass cover, gently slide out. To reinsert after cleaning, reverse the process.
