FIRE PUMP CONTROLLER For Diesel Driven Fire Pumps Hazardous Area, for Zones 1 & 2 (Class 1 Division 1) Type EFP/NFPA80/PN Release 1.3 Features: The Metron Eledyne Diesel Pneumatic Fire Pump Controller is designed and approved for use in Class 1, Division 1 Groups A, B, C and D, hazardous locations and suitable for use in adverse conditions. Components are contained in a NEMA 4X weatherproof enclosure with a ‘lexan’ windowed front door and lockable internal access door on which is mounted the indicators and switches. The controller is suitable for either direct mounting on the engine skid using AV mounts or for wall mounting. A freestanding plinth is available as an optional extra. Standard paint finish in epoxy resin, colour red to Metron Eledyne paint specification number PS 0396 and suitable for use in corrosive environments. Internal components are mounted on a white gear tray. The controller is designed to operate in exposed hazardous installations such as offshore oil platforms, chemical and petrochemical plants. Powered by air supply filtered lubricated or not (when used at 0°C and below, dry air and pipe trace heating should be used). Single air supply input to controller with a pressure gauge for visual monitoring. Maximum inlet pressure 10 bars. Minimum pressure 6 bars. Dual air supply monitoring circuits to lock out and alarm at low pressure. Alarm only at high pressure. RoHS & WEEE COMPLIANT WEE/CFO105WV NFPA20 The controller is designed to the latest NFPA No 20 standards for automatic and manual starting of diesel engine driven fire pumps. Features continued:Single crank output of 90 seconds. Air supply input is via a 10 mm stainless steel bulkhead fitting. Outputs to solenoids and monitoring circuits via 6 mm stainless steel bulkhead fittings. Can be used with air cylinder pressures higher than 10 bars provided reducers are fitted external to controller. Logic chassis fitted with plug in logic modules for ease of replacement. Suitable for operation in ambient temperatures up to 50°C (a sun canopy must be fitted on outdoor installations when used in high ambient temperatures.) Logic modules fitted with pop up indicators giving instant indication of input and output pressures. Emergency manual start P.B behind lockable break glass panel on door allowing starting from either cylinder. Adjustable 0-20 seconds, delay start timer. Oil and water monitoring channels with engine overspeed shutdown as standard. Extra monitor channels available as Options (A, B, C). Air flaps can be operated in an overspeed shutdown condition. 40 day pulse counter for weekly starting which is internally mounted. Voltfree electrical changeover contacts for ‘Pump on demand’, ‘Engine running’, ‘Controller off or in manual’, ‘Fault on engine or controller’. These contacts must be fed from intrinsically safe relays fitted in safe area.
