MARKETING FOR MARKET LEADERS
Cooper is looking for the brightest young talent in the marketing field today
to join the company and climb the marketing ranks. The Marketing
Leadership Programme was created to build a pool of high-potential
candidates for influential management positions within marketing
functions across Cooper Industries.
The MLP has been tailored to provide broad and extensive experience
and training in a variety of areas in the marketing field. The two years of
rotational placements allow you to experience a variety of areas,
divisions and locations throughout the company. During your two year
programme, you will also have the benefit of the guidance and knowledge
provided by other Cooper professionals and senior leadership interaction
and the requirement to study the CIM diploma.
YOUR TASK
You’ll be required to complete marketing work assignments throughout
Cooper Industries, holding responsibility for the development and
implementation of detailed marketing plans to launch, promote and
successfully sell new and existing products. You will also have the
opportunity to help achieve sales targets through close sales team support
and successful management of the marketing mix.

ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW
Market, Competitive and Product Planning
ɀ Co-ordinate multiple product launches and associated communications through the Cooper DMEDI New Product
Development tool
ɀ Specify market requirements by conducting ongoing sales analysis, gathering customer input and feedback and
competitor analysis
ɀ Manage an annual Cooper marketing budget. Including the delivery of all marketing activity within the agreed budget
ɀ Act as an account manager between marketing and operational stakeholders to deliver a set marketing strategy
ɀ Specify and develop new web offerings and user interfaces for various Cooper product portfolios and brands
ɀ Provide consistent physical evidence reports/case studies for existing product ranges
ɀ Monitor competitor and market trends to determine appropriate plans for growth
ɀ Support various Cooper sales functions with product marketing information
Advertising and Promotion
ɀ Organise and represent the company at national and international exhibitions
ɀ Liaise with media agencies and external companies for production of catalogues, technical datasheets and general
promotional materials
ɀ Manage the co-ordination of corporate branding strategy and effective rollout throughout the organisation
ɀ Provide frequent, timely and positive media coverage for Cooper across multiple levels of media
ɀ Manage the advertising strategy and liaise with magazines and web information providers
ɀ Manage all creation and dispatch of Cooper marketing literature and promotional items
ɀ Coordinate mail shot campaigns
ɀ Produce quarterly Marketing Communication updates
ɀ Oversee management of the company website
Administration

Organise the distribution of marketing literature and promotional items for the UK and international markets
Effectively run and manage a team of sales and marketing administration assistants
Manage direct translation work and design of foreign Cooper literature
Oversee all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution
Maintain and develop the Cooper CRM systems (Maximizer Enterprise)
ARE YOU QUALIFIED?

Undergraduate or graduate degrees in marketing, or relevant business degrees
Proven leadership experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be willing to relocate
