The Human Resources Leadership Programme (HRLP) was created to build a pool of high-potential candidates for influential management positions within the HR function. The HRLP gives you experience and training in a variety of HR areas, divisions and locations throughout the company. Not to mention the collaboration with other Cooper professionals and senior leadership interaction. You’ll heighten your skills through rotations within a two year period in various locations throughout Cooper Industries, with opportunities to work abroad. The HRLP programme is centred on completing HR work assignments throughout Cooper Industries that support learning through the CIPD qualification- the most relevant professional HR qualification in business today. HRLP participants will be given the opportunity to focus their projects around 4 key areas of HR management that are highlighted in the electives section of their CIPD qualification. Human Resources Leadership Programme (HRLP) ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW Employment Law ɀ Assess the importance of legislation, plan for future legislative changes and anticipate the implications of these changes for our business. ɀ Contracts (agency workers, annual leave, salaries, benefits, work time regulations) ɀ Discrimination including the Equality Act 2010 ɀ Flexible Working (maternity, paternity, adoption and parental rights) ɀ TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings) ɀ Discipline & Grievance ɀ Dismissals and Employment tribunals Employee Relations ɀ Employment Law applications to reflect in our companies employment practices and procedures whilst considering employee engagement and measuring and managing its effectiveness within our business ɀ Creating the employee relationship ɀ Maintaining the employee relationship ɀ Grievance & disciplinary process ɀ Terminating the employee relationship ɀ Measuring, managing and maintaining employee engagement Learning & Development ɀ ɀ ɀ ɀ ɀ ɀ ɀ Identify key issues facing managers in learning & development and suggest appropriate solutions Identification and analysis of training needs Training design Training Evaluation & assessment Participative methods Measurement of effective learning & development Integrating learning with business needs Recruitment & Selection ɀ ɀ ɀ ɀ ɀ ɀ Understand and deliver different recruitment and selection methods and identify when it is appropriate to use them Recruitment reporting and vacancy identifying Job descriptions and person specifications Understand and work with various recruitment channels Understand and work with various recruitment techniques Make a decision: arrive at soundly based selection decisions, evaluating candidates at short list stage and after interview feeding back to candidates TRAINING As a supplement to the day-to-day experiences gained during the rotational assignments, Cooper conducts in-depth training workshops for all HRLP participants taught by experienced Cooper leaders, along with supporting candidates throughout their CIPD qualification.
