STATEMENT OF PRIMARY DUTIES:
To plan, direct, manage, supervise and oversee the activities and operations of the Technical Services
division(Desktop, Network, Telephony) of the Information Technology Services Department. Participates in
Department level organizational decision making as a member of the departmental management team;
assists and advises the ITS Director in all Technical Services related issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the planning, design, implementation, continuous operation and on-going support of
all desktop, network, telephony and infrastructure related activities for the City.
• Monitor and evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of the Technical Services division utilizing City
provided tools.
• Provide highly responsible, professional administrative and managerial work assisting the
Information Technology Director.
• Coach/Lead, motivate, develop, and evaluate assigned personnel.
• Represent the division to all internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop,
implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
• Responsible for the preparation and administration of the division’s budget.
• Research new technology and stay abreast of the latest industry trends.
• Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION GUIDELINES Any combination of experience and education that would likely
provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and
abilities would be:
Experience: 5 – 7 years of experience in the information technology field, including 1 – 3 years
administrative and/or supervisory responsibility.
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work
in Computer Science, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
Certifications: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license required.
