INSTRUCTIONS TO EXAMINEES
General Instructions
1.
Immediately on receipt of admit card, please check the particulars printed/ written therein are
correct. Admit Card bearing the latest photograph and specimen signature of the candidate, Roll
No., ISA Registration Number, Membership No., Centre etc. and signed by the Additional Secretary
(Exams) be shown to the invigilator on demand. In case of any difficulty candidates are requested to
contact the Additional Secretary (Exams.) sufficiently in advance.
2.
Entry to the Examination Hall will commence at 10.00 a.m. on the day of the Assessment Test.
Candidates should be present positively by 10.00 a.m.
3.
It is advisable that every candidate visits the venue of the examination centre before hand to avoid
any inconvenience on the day of the Assessment Test.
4.
Late entry will be allowed up to 30 minutes of the start of the Assessment Test. No candidate shall be
permitted to leave the examination hall until the expiry of 60 minutes after the commencement of the
Assessment Test and only after submitting the question paper booklet and OMR Answer Sheet. No
re-entry is allowed.
5.
A candidate must carry his admit card, black ball point pen, HB pencils, eraser, sharpener to the
examination centre/hall.
6.
No reference material/study material, books etc. and blank papers for rough work will be allowed
to be taken inside the examination hall.
7.
Every candidate will find his/her Roll No. written against the seat allotted and he/she should occupy
the allotted seat only.
8.
Every candidate is required to satisfy that the question paper booklet given to him/her is in order in
all respects especially, the number of pages printed on the cover page of the booklet. In case of any
discrepancy, he/she should ask for exchange of the question paper booklet immediately.
9.
The candidate must write his/her 4 digit Roll No. as allotted to him/her and indicated in the Admit
Card on OMR Answer Sheet in boxes in black pen and darken the appropriate circles with HB pencil.
Similarly, write question paper booklet Number as also the code, e.g. ABC or XYZ as printed on top
of the question paper booklet, on OMR answer Sheet. The candidates should not write his/her Name,
ISA Registration No., Membership No., and also not make any noting /scribbling on the OMR Answer
Sheet.
10.
Every candidate must sign the attendance register with Pen against his/her name in the appropriate
place.
11.
No candidate will leave the examination hall without the express permission of the Invigilator.
12.
Use of calculator and/or such devices is not allowed.
13.
Smoking, chewing of tobacco, betel, intoxicant, etc are strictly prohibited in the Examination hall.
14.
Candidates should not bring the pager, cellular phone, digital diary or any other electronic
gadgets/device in any form inside the examination hall. In case by any chance the pager, cellular
phone, digital diary or other electronic gadgets/device in any form are brought, the same must be
deposited with the Centre Superintendent and be taken back after the conclusion of the Assessment
Test. Please note that no candidate shall be allowed to use these gadgets under any circumstances
during the course of the Assessment Test. Any violation will tantamount to adoption of unfair
means.

Candidates are required to maintain complete discipline in the examination hall and for any
misdemeanour on their part (i.e., talking to, receiving /giving any help, copying from any text,
defying instruction of the Invigilator etc.) will tantamount to adoption of unfair means in the
examination. In such a situation, the candidate concerned will be expelled from the examination hall
and will be subject to disciplinary action, as deemed fit, as per the Chartered Accountants
Regulations, 1988. The candidate, who had been expelled, must submit his explanation in writing
through the Centre Superintendent.
16.
The Centre Superintendent has absolute power to expel a candidate from the examination hall, if in
his opinion, the candidate has misbehaved or has obstructed him or any other official on examination
duty in carrying out his duties.
17.
For any inadvertent printing mistake or framing of the question, he/she should write to the Additional
Secretary (Exams.) ICAI within a week of the date of Assessment Test.
Specific instructions relating to OMR Answer Sheets
18.
Each candidate will be given one Question Paper Booklet and one OMR Answer Sheet. He/she will
be required to surrender the question booklet as also answer sheet at the conclusion of the
Assessment Test against acknowledgement by the Invigilator on the acknowledgement portion of the
Admit Card.
19.
Each column in the OMR Answer Sheet corresponds to the serial number of question given in the
question paper booklet. In each column, there are four circles which correspond to the four options
for answers of which one is to be darkened by HB pencil on the OMR Answer Sheet only. Any
answer marked/darkened in the question paper Booklet will not be taken cognizance of and
therefore no mark will be awarded.
20.
The question paper booklet will consist of 200 questions. Each question will be of one mark and for
every question, four options for answers will be given in the Booklet. The Candidate is required to
select one amongst the given four options as his/her answer and darken the corresponding circle with
HB Pencil viz. A or B or C or D as the case may be, in the OMR Answer Sheet.

For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded. Multiple darkened circles for a question will be
treated as wrong answer. And, for questions not answered i.e. blanks, zero will be given.
22.
A candidate has the option to erase the option chosen as answer if he/she wants to change the
option chosen as answer already darkened. In such a case, he/she should erase it completely with
good quality eraser and ensure that no mark is visible after erasing.

Candidates may bring a card board or clip board on which nothing should be written so that they
have no difficulty in darkening circles in OMR Answer Sheet as the tables provided in the
examination hall may or may not have even or smooth surface.
