ARISTO EVALUATION KIT User Guide 408-78038 Rev. B ARISO LP1 Evaluation Kit User Guide ARISO LP1 Evaluation Kit User Guide 1/8 July 2013 ARISTO EVALUATION KIT User Guide 408-78038 Rev. B 1 Introduction The ARISO LP1 Contact Connector is an M12 style contactless connector system designed to connect sensors without a galvanic connection. It is able to transfer up to 6 W from the ARISO Power Transmitter (Tx) to the ARISO Power Receiver (Rx). At the same time it provides a uni-directional data connection from the Power Receiver (Rx) to the Power Transmitter (Tx). 2 Evaluation Kit This instruction cover the installation and connection of the ARISO evaluation kit for M12 style contactless connectors meant to be used in combination with sensors. This evaluation kit contains two connector parts (one ARISO Power Transmitter Tx and one ARISO Power Receiver Rx) together with a data carrier containing the ARISO Design Objectives, the Customer Drawing and this User Guide. B 4 Mounting The ARISO LP1 is intended to be mounted using the M12 x 1 mm thread on the enclosure which can be used to mechanically attach the units to its application. Evaluation kit pair matching for optimum wireless data transfer Each ARISO Power Transmitter Tx is matched with its Power Receiver Rx coupler. Please note the unique 12-digit serial numbers marked on the enclosure. Distance between Transmitter (Tx) and Receiver (Rx) from metal Each ARISO Power Transmitter (Tx) and Receiver (Rx) can be used to transfer power through non-metallic objects. Metallic objects, depending upon their size, can affect the operation of the power link. It should be ensured that the tip of the Tx and Rx units enclosed by a plastic cap is located at least 25 mm from metal. Distance between adjacent Transmitter and Receiver pairs The ARISO Power Transmitter pairs (Tx & Rx) can be used adjacent to each other depending upon the application power and data requirements. The minimum separation of 60 mm will ensure correct operation in most cases. 5 Specification Summary Note: for a detailed overview of the product specification see document 108-19449. 5.1 Power Interface Input voltage Output voltage Maximum output power Metal clearance Short circuit protection Over-temperature protection 5.2 Digital Data Interface Number of channels Output structure Maximum output current Impedance level HIGH Impedance level LOW 5.3 24V ± 5% 24V ± 5% 6W (distance < 2mm, no misalignment) 25 mm (distance of Front End to nearest metal surface) Yes Yes 8 PNP 25mA < 1Ω > 1MΩ Analog Data Interface Number of channels Input range Resolution Minimum load impedance 4 0-10V 12bit > 1kΩ ARISO LP1 Evaluation Kit User Guide 7/8 July 2013 ARISTO EVALUATION KIT 408-78038 User Guide Rev.
