Schneider Electric announces end of life for Monitor Pro
With the release of Monitor Pro version 7.6, Schneider
Electric has decided to stop further development of
the product and announced the end-of-sale of
Monitor Pro™. This means that the Monitor Pro
product will no longer receive functional expansions,
will no longer be sold, and continued use of existing
versions will receive limited support as per the
Monitor Pro product support lifecycle.
To protect your investment, Monitor Pro customers
are being offered a cost effective and low risk
option to modernize your system by switching to
Schneider Electric’s new generation Vijeo Citect™
SCADA software.
Assessing the need to modernize your SCADA

Every modernization project starts with
Schneider Electric’s local system
application experts analyzing the customer’s
existing Monitor Pro system at no cost to
the user. The customer then receives a
precise breakdown of all the necessary
work as well as a detailed assessment of
any modifications which will need to be
carried out manually.
Basic support option
The basic modernization option may be
all that is required for simple and small
installations with no ongoing support needs.
Large parts of the basic modernization
process can be carried out using SMCC’s
automated tools and methodologies. This
usually covers the conversion of graphics,
animations, ActiveX controls and scripts of
the Monitor Pro client, as well as the tags,
I/Os, alarms, trends and reports on the
server side. This significantly reduces the
engineering effort needed and once the
key components have been ported to Vijeo
Citect, the project is ready for testing and
commissioning.
Comprehensive support option
For more complex systems where additional
manual modifications may be needed in
order to unlock the full functional scope of
the application, we recommend the
comprehensive modernization service. This
option comprises specialized engineering
services and support in addition to the
steps described in the basic option above.
These specialized services are provided
directly by the SMCC and are only
available to customers choosing the
comprehensive support option.
Also included in this option is a 12 month
Gold or GoldPlus level technical support
agreement for Vijeo Citect. The Gold
